4.0 out of 5 stars When A Woman Runs It! 3.5 Stars
Dr. Anthony Cross is the man in New York City. He is the premiere plastic surgeon and as such is used to women falling at his feet. He is thirty-three years old and has no questions at all about what he brings to the table. There is nothing he loves more than a bevy of beauties at his beck and call and he is often not nice about it. However, that does not stop the women...

4.0 out of 5 stars When A Woman Runs It! 3.5 Stars, April 10, 2008
This review is from: Histress (Paperback)
However, that does not stop the women from flocking to him. After all, he is tall, dark, handsome, rich and well-endowed. He may be about to meet his match though, finally.

Gracie Lane is about to enter her forties. She is a millionaire due to her late husband's death. She has been remarried for ten years and is seemingly happy. Gracie's past is filled with lies and secrets and she is always a heartbeat away from the truth spilling out. The one thing Gracie wants is to have a tummy tuck but though rich she will not purchase it for herself. She is pleased and surprised when her husband provides her the surgery as an anniversary present. Of course, the doctor is none other than the famous, Dr. Cross.

Upon meeting, Anthony and Gracie get off on the wrong foot. However, she decides to use him as her plastic surgeon. For some reason, Anthony is immediately smitten with Mrs. Lane and is unable to get her out of his mind. A chance encounter, after work hours, leads to a hot and heavy sexual relationship and from that point the games truly begin. It was fun reading about a man who is so full of himself getting played by a moody, married femme fatale. I recommend Histress to those who enjoy a fast-paced, sex-filled, sometimes comic novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Never Trust A Big Butt And Plastic Surgery, February 8, 2008
This review is from: Histress (Paperback)
Gracie Lane's love for her husband excels each and every day. Who wouldn't love a man who prefers to hold his own even though she has millions just lying in her bank account? His lovemaking sends her into a dream world, while his quiet and even docile mannerisms make him a husband gold mine. A decade of this man should only bring her closer to him, but she unremorsefully found herself in the arms and bed of another man.

Anthony Cross is what every mother wants for her daughter. Handsome, established, rich and charming are only a few of his pristine qualities. Even his secretary, Anika, cannot wait until she is walking down the aisle and showing off her handsome plastic surgeon husband. Why of all the women and chasers in the world did he have to fall for his mysterious married girlfriend?

I usually enjoy Crystal 's books and this one was no different. I really didn't know how the ending would play out and overall I was surprised. Crystal, once again, has done a superb job.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Tables Are Turned, January 10, 2008
This review is from: Histress (Paperback)
Well, it's official, Anthony Cross is in love. The devilishly handsome, charming, womanizing (you knew it was too good to be true) doctor has found HER! This would be a joyous occasion, but SHE is married. However, Dr. Cross takes his situation in stride, biding his time.

Our marriage is over...
We don't have sex anymore...
The time is not right to leave yet...

Gracie Lane has a devoted husband, a beautiful home and what seems to be a carefree lifestyle. But she wants her cake and to eat it too.

Lies on top of lies...
Can't be seen in public together...
No real dates, just sexual excursions...

As things escalate between the Good Doctor and the Mrs., suspicions grow, demands increase, feelings are hurt and the past just won't stay in the past. Are these two ready for the consequences of their actions?

Crystal Lacey Winslow, the Queen of Melodrama, is true to her title with her latest release. HISTRESS is a tantalizing tale. Laced with drama, emotional twists, and pleasure, Crystal continues to show her talent as a gifted storyteller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Hit by Crystal, January 12, 2009
This review is from: Histress (Paperback)
It has taken me over one year to finally read this book. I am so disappointed that I wanted so long to read it. Once again, Crystal did not disappoint me in this book. It was good to see a different angle of a story. It was finally a man being desparate for the woman.

3.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating 3.5) Secrets will surface, July 14, 2008
By
The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Histress (Paperback)
HISTRESS by Crystal Lacey Winslow is an intricate story of abuse, deception and love. Gracie is mistreated as a child and never understands why. As a result, she flees her home as quickly as she can. She marries Ed, a man several years younger than she is, and Ed, being a kind husband, gives Gracie what she wants as a present: a tummy tuck. The moment Gracie steps into Dr. Anthony Cross's office, she knows she wants this man and the good doctor becomes her `histress' - the male version of a `mistress.' As the affair continues, Ed becomes suspicious as does Dr. Cross's girlfriend and the drama begins. Can Gracie carry this off without her many, dark secrets surfacing? There are those who want her exposed and are working overtime to do it. Will she survive it all?

Crystal Lacey Winslow has penned a novel of deception that grows rather than diminishes over the years. There are many plots, twists and turns. Sometimes it was a bit hard keeping all the various characters and their actions straight. It was definitely an interesting book and most of the characters were well developed. A few of the minor ones were rather vague, thus hard to keep straight.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy, borrow from a friend., March 21, 2008
By
This review is from: Histress (Paperback)
I didn't like this book at all. I bought it based on the reviews and I was like "WTF?" There was just too much going on all at once. This "playa" turned out to be a whipped fool and the object of his affections was just as crazy. The beginning was so bad that I quit reading it, and it down for a few days. The ending was good though. That is the reason I gave it got a star. The characters could have been more played out instead of jumping from one thing to another. I have read previous CLW books and I think that maybe the author got tired when it came to writing this one. The other books are great.
