I purchased this album through Amazon.com for under 4 bucks ($3.61) for 5 songs. And I have to say it was $4.00 well spent! There are two songs that are on the previous album "Light Me Up" but these versions are LIVE! I'm not usually one for live recordings, sometimes the crowd screaming gets in my way, but it was dimmed down in these recordings.

There are three new songs, and they are fantastic! I've been a Pretty Reckless fan since I first heard Just Tonight, when I recieved the single as a free download on iTunes. These new songs do not disappoint. They are hard edges, guitar riffs and Taylor's voice at the forefront. This is Rock n' Roll!

I have to take a moment to talk about Taylor Momsens voice. I'm a voice girl, I love or hate voices and in this case I love! I just don't understand how someone so young can put so much into their voice. If you didn't know who was singing, you would never guess that the person behind this soulful emotion filled voice was under 18 or maybe she is now just barely 18. Her voice sounds as though she has lived a 100 years and not all of them good. She just gets it right, and you feel what she feels as she is singing. When she hits certain parts of songs, I'll even get chills on occasion.

There are so many young starlets singing now days it becomes hard to distinguish between all the teeny bopper voices and cookie cutter songs, this is not the case with actress turned musician Taylor. This is one of the rare cases where I feel like an actor turned musician actually works. I think the only other instance I can think of where the actor turned musician makes you forget that they even acted is Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars. These two would probably tell you that music was in their blood before acting was even a thought.

My new favorite Pretty Reckless Song: Under the Water

I didn't think they could top themselves after Light Me Up simply because of Make Me Wanna Die, Zombie and Miss Nothing. But this has them bringing a bit more mature sound to mix. Taylor's voice has always veered on the bluesy side to me and she lets you know it with these songs. Much smoother sound and feel. I'm really loving Under The Water but all the songs are so great. It's good to see the band evolving and hope to see much more from them in the future.

I have loved The Pretty Reckless from the beginning, having bought the Light Me Up album aswell as the EP. I bought this with no hesitation. It's in the air, theres a new album coming and darn right im ready,

Make Me Wanna Die (Live):
This goes to show how lively and fun the band is live. I really enjoyed it and it was very good. They are just as good live as they are in the studio. 9/10

Hit Me Like A Man:
Great new material from the band, I loved it!. It makes me anxious and excited for the new album, complete perfection. Her vocals are sexy and fun, with band playing rough and . 10/10

Under The Water:
Great, slowed down song. Another great example of new Pretty Reckless material, again Taylor blows me away with her vocals and the backing band is amazing as always. 10/10

Since Your Gone (Live):
Just like the other like set on the EP, really great and a awesome overall song. Almost better than the album studio version. Great! 9/10

Cold Blooded:
So here we come to another new song. I can't really put my finger on it but i think Cold Blooded, is one that I don't like. I mean its not bad. But sometimes catchiness isn't good and this may be a prime example. Like i said it's not bad but it's not phenomenal. 8/10

Overall, i think The Pretty Reckless pleasantly surprised us with this new release. Very good and recommended if you are a really big fan. If your not then you can just wait for the album. 9/10

I am such a hord core Pretty Reckless fan! I have been following Taylor on youtube before their first EP or cd came out. Hit Me Like A man has only one problem, that it is just an EP and not a new full cd. The three new songs are amazing. Hit Me Like A Man is nearly a perfect song. Great lyrics, awesome music, Under The Water is beautiful and hauting and Cold Blooded has a great tempo! This is a must buy.

The Pretty Reckless opened up for Evanescence back in a fall '11 show that I went to. Little did I know that the PR would become one of my new favorite bands. This is an awesome EP and she sounds great in the live tracks. It's just a snippet of what's going to be on the next album, can't wait! So turn the volume up, and enjoy!

This is straight up rock music and I love that. Not as good as their recent CD, but still enjoyed many of the songs on this CD.
