Great singles, great covers, July 29, 1998

Second part of the Hit Parade series. I personally like the singles on on the first release; 'Hit Parade 1' but this CD is another strong song writing showing from one of UK's great rock bands. Pay note to the Elton John and Daid Bowie covers. 'The Queen of Outer Space' is one of the finest Wedding Present songs ever.

Singles July-December 1992, March 10, 2005

In 1992 Wedding Present earned a place in the Guinness Book Of Records by releasing a single a month for a year, and getting all of them into the Top 30. Each single was limited to 15,000 copies and had a new song on the A-side and a cover on the flip. The first six singles were collected onto an album called Hit Parade 1 released in July 1992, and its sequel, not unreasonably called Hit Parade 2, followed six months later.
Look out for the collectable version that includes an invaluable bonus CD, which was only with the initial copies of the release, and comprised alternative radio performances of all 12 of the A-sides, recorded in session for John Peel and other BBC radio programmes during that year.
