Ima Abasi, July 21, 2004
This review is from: Hit Sound of the Ramblers (Audio CD)
Rarely in life do father and son like the same band and music title. Before he died in 1978, my father was passionately in love with "Ima Abasi" by the Ramblers band from Ghana. I now find myself passionately in love with this song, and often play it when I need some inspiration.
If Ghana does not make the Ramblers band a national treasure, then I will make them a national treasure in Nigeria. They were so extremely talented in their hey days that all the music they put out was wonderful.
The Ramblers rank second only to Ipi n'tombi from South Africa, on my list of Africa's greatest musical groups. Buy this album my friend and enjoy the wisdom and melody it offers.
