This is Massad Ayoob's book on the sport of bowling pin shooting. This book was my introduction to the game. Ayoob wrote this book in the early 1980's and the sport's state-of-the-art has changed a little since then. However the game is still, fundamentally, the same.

Ayoob stresses the relevence of bowling pin shooting competition (and really any shooting competition) to defensive firearms use. He makes a strong case for bowling pin shooting as enjoyable recreational practices for people who use firearms to defend themselves. It's not the first shooting book I would buy. However, I'm very glad that I have a copy in my shooting library.

It is one of Mas' early works, and it shows. Interesting insight into the start of the sport, but not much in the way of "how to" or exercises or development of skills etc. It is clearly dated given the revolution that happened in shooting in the last 3 decades, but is still kind of a hoot to see a woman described as "foxy" in writing in this day and age.

I don't regret buying it since it was used and cheaper. It is a neat read, but not for someone looking to improve their perfomance in my opinion.

This book is perhaps one of the best sources for infomation on competetive bowling pin shooting. Ayoob provides extensive information on shooting tactics, weapon selection, and loads.

This book is full of great advice for the bowling pin shooter. Good background about how the sport started and why it is of value to shooters.
