I used a Hardiblade in my Radial Arm saw and another in my circular saw while installing Hardiplank siding on my daughters house. The cuts were straight and clean. This was the first time I have installed cement siding and I was a little apprehensive about cutting and nailing the siding. The blades cut much easier and with much less chipout and dust than the carbide blade I tried at first.

I would reccommend this blade for any cutting of cement siding.

The Hitachi PCD blade surpassed all my expectations. It made crisp, clean cuts that were indistinguishable from the factory edges. The cost of the blade was insignificant compared to the time and money it saved me from changing carbide-tipped blades.

I started my siding job with a Piranha carbide blade in my circular saw because the Hardiblade I ordered had not shown up.

After one afternoon of work I could see the blade was wearing out and was sparking on the cement board, indicating the carbide teeth were burning up.

When I got the Hardiblade I put it on and continued work. Noticed right away that it slings less dust and it lasts for a loooong time. I made quite a few long rips with it and it cut very easily.

Do I think these blades are worth the very high price? Nope, they can't cost that much to manufacture.

Do I regret buying it instead of trying to use carbide blades for the whole job? Nope.

It's a good blade.

This blade makes cutting hardibacker a snooze. I've had a friend cut hardibacker with a regular blade, and the dust storm that it creates is out of control. This blade minimizes dust, and cuts the hardibacker with ease and speed.

If you're working with hardibacker, this is the blade for you. The only blade for you.

This blade, made specifically for cutting fiber cement boards/planks, has lived up to my expectations so far. I'm a homeowner, doing my own re-siding of my home with Hardiboard planks, and I'm only about 2/3 the way done. I've had to make a lot of cuts because of multiple sides, windows etc, and have gone thru several 'certified' Hardie approved (4 tooth) blades, i.e Freud, Irwin, but they DID NOT have PCD (polycrystalline diamond) inserts. Those blades, while holding up better than a standard carbide blade would, started showing signs of wear after about 30-40 cuts, shooting sparks and such.
I read about these blades by Hitachi (DeWalt, Makita and others also have them with PCD) and the review/price seemed to make the Hitachi the best value. Good value, doesn't mean cheap!

I bought the 7-1/4" and 10" variants of the this Hitachi blade, and have made hundreds of cuts so far, with no signs of degraded cutting ability.
I use the 7-1/4 only for my circular saw for ripping. As promised, and printed on the label of this 10" blade, you can gang together up to 5 planks to cut at one time...and it works flawlessly. I use a Bosch compound miter saw and it literally makes the cut so cleanly, even after hundreds of cuts, that I simply wipe the edge with my hand before nailing the planks up. No more using a knife to cut away the jagged edges left by poor quality blades.
If you're like me, you hate dealing with the dust of cutting fiber cement boards. If using a compound or chop saw, you will cut thru so fast, with so little dust, for some cuts and having a light breeze to take the dust from you, you'll be tempted to now put the mask on every time. Not recommended, but a testament to how much less dust these do generate.

I'm very happy with this product and will gladly pay the extra dollars for PCD blades like this Hitachi again if needed. Only way to go!

I have a Milwaukee Circular Saw with the original Endurance blade.
I was cutting Hardi siding with it. Endurance blade kicks up a lot of dust and and chips, etc. The cuts weren't all that bad though, a little rough around the edges, but then I came on here and read about this HardiBlade, and read the reviews on less dust, etc.
I didn't notice that for me. It's still kicking up dust and chips. It may be a tad less, but not worth mentioning in my opinion.
The cuts were slightly smoother though.
So if I had to do it all over again, I would save my money...unless I was cutting these boards all day every day.

This is the only blade specifically designed for cutting fiber cement siding and trim that has true lasting power. It cuts smooth and sharp. And, it LASTS and lasts! It is more than worth the higher price. You'll spend more using less expensive blades that go dull after short-term use.

This blade does a good job of both ripping and cross cutting fiber cement siding. It is however, far too expensive for what it is. It is a thin kerf steel blade with four tiny teeth tipped with diamond dust. I think the blade accounts for 25% of the cost and the name HardiBlade accounts for the rest.

I've tried one other blade but this was the best performer hands down. After making several cuts, even ripping 12 foot siding, this blade never slowed or loaded.

This is a super product!!! I just finished re-siding my entire house using this blade, and I couldn't be happier. Cuts like butter, but as advertized, it is a bit dusty. I just set up a small fan blowing the dust away as I cut and no problems.
