Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Hitachi Director's Series 57XWX20B 57-inch rear-projection CRT television makes impact visually with both its 16:9, antireflective screen and elegant, black, high-gloss cabinet. Thanks to its Hitachi-exclusive hybrid wide-neck CRT and Super Contrast Lens assembly, you get a sharper, brighter, and more balanced widescreen image. The integrated HDTV tuner enables reception of terrestrial and unscrambled cable HDTV signals, and eliminates the need for an external HDTV tuner.

Another Hitachi exclusive technology is Magic Focus, a digital system that uses light patterns and sensors to automatically align the dedicated red, green, and blue CRTs. This convergence option is activated with the simple push of a button. Other convenience features include dual 181-channel tuners with auto programming; Digital Window two-tuner split screen, HD split screen, and 16:9 picture-in-picture; and an illuminated universal preprogrammed remote for up to eight devices.

Six aspect modes give you a variety of viewing options for content in 16:9 or 4:3 and the VirtualHD technology digitally upconverts analog content to 1080p to present the best possible picture regardless of the signal source. The set also has 3:2 film correction to help eliminate the artifacts caused by viewing movies on TV, reducing the smeared or stuttering appearance that can occur.

Sound options abound with the 57XWX20B. The four-speaker, 10-watts-per-channel, two-way bass-reflex system is backed with Dolby Digital two-channel downmix, MTS stereo/SAP with dbx, SRS surround sound, BBE sound enhancement and Mach3 bass enhancement, and Perfect Volume auto volume level control. There's a Dolby Digital output as well as the ability to use the TV's speakers as your center channel speaker in a surround sound system.

What's in the Box
Projection HDTV, owner's manual, easy graphic guide, illuminated remote control, simple remote control, 2 IR mouse cables (2 blasters each).

If you have a normal living room, you must get a TV with anti-reflective. And this screen has one of the best I've seen. I have it in a white room, lots of big open windows, and I still don't have to turn up the brightness during the day.

Very nice having both the DVI and Firewire inputs for maximum expandability. Great sound and very easy menus. Most importantly, my wife liked this one best out of all the ones on display also!

This is one great television. It has firewire, DVI and a built in tuner. Because of the built in firwire port and tuner you will be able to record HDTV programs off of the air if you have a compatible DVHS VCR. The black marble case is beautiful. I did a lot of research on different televisions and this seemed like the most future-compatible HDTV in it's price range. Highly Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome TV, February 18, 2006
This review is from: Hitachi 57XWX20B 57-Inch 16:9 Projection HDTV (Electronics)
This is the best tv ever! I did a lot of studying before we actually bought this and this is by far the best you'll get. Color, clarity, ease of use. It's all there. I'm recommending anyone who wants a new tv to get Hitachi!
