The Hitachi C6DC cordless circular saw features a 6-1/2-inch blade capable of cutting 2-by material at a 45-degree bevel. The saw's maximum cutting depth at 0 degrees is 2-1/4 inches and 1-9/16 inches at 45 degrees. The C6DC is built for exceptional durability. While some circular saws’ bevel indicators are attached to the base with rivets, the C6DC’s base and bevel indicator are one die-cast aluminum piece. Furthermore, because it’s nickel-plated, the base of Hitachi’s saw won’t mar the wood’s surface. Additional features include an adjustable kerf indicator as well as a unique battery-operated light that illuminates the cutting line when the trigger switch is pressed.

Powered by a high-capacity 2 amp/hr. battery that charges in just one hour, Hitachi’s cordless circular saw operates at 3,500 rpm and has a fan-cooled motor. The saw also features an electric brake for increased safety. The C6DC’s blade is located to the right of the motor and is equipped with a spindle lock for easy blade changes.

Have used it since 1988, loved it, cut all the siding for a rental house with it. Had 2 batteries but they are dead. Problem is Hitachi (nor anyone else) can supply me with new batteries, so saw is useless ... wonder if they will abandon buyer of latest saw the same way?

Like all Hitachi tools... this saw performs perfectly. Tons of power and it rarely binds up. I've even used it to cut firewood in a pinch. The light on it is an excellent idea. It's quite helpful when working in new buildings still running temporary light strings off generators. Only thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars... just one battery. I also have a 14.4 Hitachi Drill... and this saw will use those batteries in a jam so it's not a big concern for me... but if this is your only Hitachi cordless tool... be prepared to let the saw sit around for an hour while the battery charges. I guess they wanted to keep the price low, but this is pretty silly.
