I was having problems cutting thin strips for a kayak using a table saw, I have a makita cordless saw, but battery power would not last long enough for all the strips I need to cut. So I bought this circular saw built a jig for it and in the last two days I have cut about 200 strips, from wood up to 5 cm thick. It did not overheat or even pause when going through thick stock after hours of work.

Light but still solid, great carbide blade comes with the saw and a great value. I highly recommend it.

I grabbed this saw last week while surfing on my lunch break. I want to build my own deck and fence in the back yard and this saw seemed like a no-brainer for the price. It arrived two days later and even my wife was impressed with my new purchase. I spent the better half of the weekend framing the deck and the saw blasted through wet pressure treated 2x10's with ease. I was especially pleased to find that it came with a really nice blade (already installed!) and the dust blower worked as well as in the video. I am happy with my purchase and can honestly say it is worth every penny!

I have become more and more impressed with Hitachi tools. I consider myself a step above the average hobbyist woodworker, and have a vast array of tools at my disposal, (DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ryobi, Delta, some Porter Cable, Jet, Grizzly, etc) and I just have to say that all of my Hitachi equipment has been on par with the best of it! This circular saw is a great grab for a good price. If you need a circular saw, look no further!

Bought this saw while working on a deck. Can't believe how light weight it is for the power that you get out of it. Didn't realize Hitachi made such good stuff.

This is a good saw for the home owner/hobbyist. The only negative I have found is the levers for locking the depth and cut angle are difficult to release.

I have only cut plywood so far with good results. Leaves a pretty clean cut with an expected amount of chip out for the basic circular saw.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend as he had been talking about getting one for months. He was absolutely shocked to see what I had gotten him. Everything about this saw is amazing. I even used it myself and it was easy to use. The only downfall that he got frustrated with was how to put it back in properly to the case so it would clamp shut. If took us about 30 minutes to figure it out but finally got it. Great buy!!!!

Okay, first of all I'd like to begin by describing my level in carpentry/woodworking. I am a beginner, with a couple of projects under my belt. I've done a cabinet, built a closet, built two console tables, and several other projects. I was new to tools, but I've bought dwt 10 in miter saw, also a table saw dw745, and the rest of the tools. drill/driver, impact driver, recip saw, etc. So, I needed a circular saw to make some cross cuts that I can't make on my miter nor table saw. I should've started with a circular saw, made jigs to rip and cross cut and I'd be okay without having to buy the table saw. But anyway, I went out to buy me a circular saw. I went to lows and bought the PC-TCS15, the model, came with no case for about 60. It was pretty solid, had a steel base and it was aligned with the motor not the blade protector. look up on you tube, how to choose a circular saw and you understand what I'm talking about. It was a pretty solid saw, felt heavy, powerful, and solid. However, I saw this saw, I saw the specs and I jumped on the deal. It arrived, and I opened the case, it didn't feel as "solid" as the other one but boy, when I used it today, the motor-blade cut through 3/4 sanded plywood like a knife cutting through butter. I was impressed with it. Just let the saw do the sawing. Almost no, chipping. Of course blade is new but it's only 24 teeth. I like this saw, light weight, powerful, and very accurate. I recommend this saw to all the DIYers, beginners in woodworking, and maybe even the pros? lol Also, to get the saw back into the case, lower the height of the cut to the lowest, and it will fit easy. I will update this review with further use, and maybe some pics.
