All the cordless drill a non-pro will need,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hitachi DS14DVF 14.4 Volt 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill (Tools & Home Improvement)
For 5 years I owned a dewalt 12volt. Great drill, but fifty dollars for one new battery. one hundred and forty to one hundred and sixty dollars new. the hitachi is more compact, better weighted, better balanced, easier to remove batteries, a quicker charger, easier to change from fwd to rev., and easier to change speeds. this drill is a sleeper. at nintey-nine dollars it's a great deal. AT seventy-nine dollars(at Lowes) it's a steal........Find me a better drill for the money. I almostforgot. it's built like a tank, and so is the real beefy pro charger. Dave, Boston Ma.

A Great Tool Combination!,

This review is from: Hitachi DS14DVF 14.4 Volt 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill (Tools & Home Improvement)
My girlfriend talked me into buying this drill/combo at Lowes, and I must say I've used it to my heart's content over the past month! Absolutely plenty of torque, easy to use, and the addition of a flashlight... well, it's come in handy for several jobs. Can't say enough good things about this combination cordless tool.

For the money, it's a great deal,

This review is from: Hitachi DS14DVF 14.4 Volt 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill (Tools & Home Improvement)
Bought this drill to replace my old DeWalt 12 volt cordless, and have already done two projects with it and have been very impressed. Granted, I'm going up in voltage but I'm able to drive 1 1/4" and 1 5/8" screws into pine and oak with a lot less effort than my old trusty 12 volt. The drill size is a little more compact than what I'm used to using but I got used to it very quickly and it's actually a plus when you're up on a ladder or want to minimize tool weight. It has average charge life, but the charger included recharges the batteries in about an hour so you won't be caught short with the extra battery included. A contractor friend of mine has a Hitachi reciprocating saw that he raves about, and I'm starting to see why. They make a good product for the money and the flashlight that's included is a bonus for this tool. I'd pay the full freight for the drill alone.
