Product Description

Hitachi EC2510E 8-Gallon Gas Powered Wheeled Air Compressor

From the Manufacturer

The Hitachi EC2510E 8-Gallon Gas Powered Wheeled Air Compressor combines contractor grade quality with simplified operation with 3,200-RPM. The premium cast iron pump ensures consistent durable performance under extreme conditions on the jobsite. The base plate integrated control panel protects the gauge regulator and plumbing while centralizing the controls for simple operation. With 9-CFM at 100-PSI true air flow the EC2510E provides plenty of air. A start up PSI of 116 and a maximum PSI of 145 exceeds competitive units. An oversized oil level sight glass makes it easy to monitor the oil level for the pump and avoid pump damage from inadequate oil supply. Using a pneumatic throttle control instead of a cable eliminates the common failure of cable throttles due to crimping or breaking. The EC2510E also uses ball valve tank drains. Unlike traditional designs, ball valves will not stick, making required tank draining comfortable and convenient. Using a flexible braided stainless steel exhaust tube dramatically reduces the chances of damage from impact on the jobsite. An additional benefit is that the flexible material reduces vibration between contact points extending the life of the connections and components. This compressor comes with synthetic oil, breather pipe plug, a wheel, pressure gauge, drive belt and filter. The Hitachi EC2510E 8-Gallon Gas Powered Wheeled Air Compressor is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defect in materials and workmanship for a period of 1-year from the original purchase date.

I have one of these Hitachi compressors in my work van, it is a good compressor overall and provides a good supply of air for most uses, except for impact tools. When using impact tools you have to pause after about 15 seconds of use to let the compressor catch up.

The single downsize to this unit is the Honda engine; it will not start if the temperature is below freezing. I am also not a fan of using starting fluid to start an engine as it is hard on engines. Otherwise the engine is fine; it starts within a few pulls if the temp is above freezing. By contrast I have small engine powered tools at home with Briggs or Tecumseh engines on them and they always start with 1 or 2 pulls no matter how cold it is.

I do like the little valves for draining the tanks, they are easy to access and I always start the compressor unloaded. Unfortunately these valves are plastic and I do not expect them to last more than a few years before they will need replaced.

This is just the right air compressor for me, it is portable and I am able to use it wherever i have a need and that may be in the back pasture or in the barn or at the neighbors. It is very quite and doesn't give you a headache like those electrical motor noise makers. And best of all, the price is a lot lower than those yellow ones !

This is a good compressor for the money. It builds up air very quickly and idles down like it should. I've run a framing nailer and finish nailer at the same time and no problem keeping up. Is a little hard to start but seems to be getting better as it breaks in.

Bought this to save money; It was delivered with a broken box, but was in good condition. The moter started with two puls and runs fine. The compressor appears new. It puts out the air and should last a long time. I recommend this product.

We bought this for a business and it took two weeks longer to arrive than we were promised. When it arrived, it was hard to start and took a bit to get it to work, so right now, hoping it works and does what we are expecting. Need for it to run two nail guns at one time, and have enough pressure to drive the nails.

Deliver was great, price was excellent, we will see how it performs over the days ahead...new motor a little difficult to get started. I found if I open the air release valve on the tanks, it gives the engine an easier time to warm up without pushing and stacking a full head of pressure into the tanks immediately.
