Includes a nice storage case, wrench, and (5) grinding discs.

The cuts were easy to make and the grinder was powerful enough that the cuts didn't bog down the grinder at all.

I've used it for bolt sheering, concrete cutting, metal grinding and wood shaping with no issue.

I was installing a new sink in the kitchen and had to enlarge the opening to accomodate it, which meant cutting through granite tile. After much research, it seemed the best way to do it was to use an angle grinder fitted with a diamond blade. I didn't want to make a big investment so I found the Porter-Cable model at Lowe's for $39.99 and was all set to buy it, but this model was right next to it for only $5 more -- plus it came with a case and 5 grinding disks. I'd read that the Hitachi was a solid tool so I went for it. I sure am glad I did -- it is incredible! So small but with so much power, and is very solidly built. Changing the disk was simple. I was very pleased. For general use, it's more than sufficient for most DIY'ers.

I am puzzled why the Hitachi's handle is angled slightly inward -- all the other grinders have their handles at a 90-degree angle from the body. It didn't affect performance, but I don't see the rationale.

At any rate, it's totally worth it. With the diamond blade, it made a 1" deep, 36" long cut through GRANITE in about 4 minutes (including brief rests) -- I was amazed. I used a Hitachi diamond blade for dry cutting -- it was incredible!

I bought this about a year ago and every time I use it I like it more. This tool feels solid, powerful, and comfortable to hold. I particularly like the fact that I can move the handle to either the right or left side depending on what I'm cutting and where I want to hold. The carying case is great too and keeps everything, including wheels, in one handy place. Drop a cut-off wheel in this and say goodbye to your Dremel. (Check out the Dewalt cut-off disks though as other brands don't have the 7/8" arbor in a 4.5" disk.) I have to admit that I'm not using this thing every day, but I would expect that for any user except a contract this should be all you need, and a at good price.

This is probably over kill for my purpose since I bought this to sharpen my mower blade which it does with ease. In fact, it has so much power you need to be careful not to reshape the blade too much. It kicks off lots of sparks so safety glasses are a must. I'm glad I bought this. I can sharpen both slides of my mower blade is about 1-2 minutes

I used to use an air angle grinder, but I no longer have the big compressor needed to run it, so I got this electric one instead. Once I received it, I was surprised to find how large it was! Despite it's size and weight, it feels comfortable in the hand and it works flawlessly. I even went to Lowes and bought a cutting wheel for it (as it only comes with grinding wheels).

I purchased this item a couple years ago to grind down some slate tile that I installed in front of my fireplace. The bevel cut that I got from the tile cutter wasn't really the look or feel I wanted. This tool provided the power and manageability for me to shape the tile edges just as I wanted. Since then I have used it to grind ceramic glazes from kiln shelves. It provides exceptional service for that task without causing any damage to the shelf. I was unaware that cutting blades were available (thanks to the other Amazon reviewers for that tidbit!), so will be looking into that to take over some of the cuts that the Dremel is too small to handle.

out of the box it is obvious that it is a quality product. I have suckered myself into buying cheap tools more times than I care to admit. this is not one of those times. easy to change wheels ,good power & balance. the reason for the four? I don't like the fat handle but I don't see this as a major issue.

The Hitachi G12SR3 4 1/2 Inch Angle Grinder is a bargain for the price. It's solidly-built and is powerful enough to cut through metal with the right cutting wheel (I used a DeWalt metal cutting wheel). I basically bought this to cut down some metal shelving units that were too tall for the work area I'm in. I'm not exactly the "handiest" guy in the world, but I do what I have to do and cutting the shelves down to size seemed like a better idea than buying new ones (a whole lot cheaper too). I had some experience with a side/angle grinder from time spent doing tile and bathroom repair work, so I was comfortable enough using it. Using a metal cutting wheel I was able to grind through the 16 pieces (corners) I needed cut down in about an hour and a half, including a few breaks.

The G12SRW comes in a decent plastic case as well that does a good job of storing the grinder and wheels that you have until you need them again. I have no complaints. For what you get, the G12SRW gives you a lot for your money and should be more than adequate for the vast majority of DIY'ers.

I needed to grind down about two inches of old hard stucco basecoat underneath a window (don't ask why). I have never owned an angle grinder, so I can't compare it to others, but I can say that this one worked great for me. I put on a masonry grinding wheel and had it all done in an afternoon. The tool didn't give me any trouble, and it wasn't too heavy or hard to handle. I expect that now that I have it, I will find lots of other uses for it.

Make sure you wear your eye and ear protection, this tool is loud and dust/chips/sparks will fly at high speeds...
