We couldn't get this gun to jam, but the clearing process is fast and simple: Just release the lock latch, open the blade guide, free the jam with a screwdriver and close the latch. Done. There's a nice clean depth-of-drive adjustment, but it isn't tool-free, so users may prefer controlling that with air pressure. It's a hardworking, trouble-free, rugged gun that will last for years.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

The N5008AC's magazine is built using tough, lightweight plastic--it even has stainless steel plating on top for durability. The magazine accepts 16-gauge standard crown staples from one to two inches in length, although Hitachi recommends using the following sizes: 7/16 x 1-1/2 inches, 7/16 x 1-3/4 inches, and 7/16 x 2 inches.
Dual Firing Modes for Versatility
The N5008AC uses a straight firing angle that operates at 70-120 psi. There are two firing options: intermittent or continuous. Intermittent firing allows you to fire using the trigger, while the continuous firing option allows you to fire staples continuously along the workpiece using a bouncing motion.
Adjustable Depth of Drive for Precision
The N5008AC features depth of drive that is easy to adjust with the included hex bar wrench. This feature gives you the ability to countersink staples and select the right depth for the job.
Designed for Comfort and Efficiency
At just 4.4 pounds and featuring a well-balanced design, the N5008AC allows for easy one-handed operation without loss of precision. Its soft rubber grip provides extended comfort for all-day jobs, such as roof decking, subflooring, and modular home construction.
The Hitachi N5008AC Standard Crown Stapler measures 14-3/8 x 3 x 10 inches (LxWxH). It features a 1/4-inch air inlet, and it takes in air at a rate of 0.040 cubic feet/cycle at 100 psi. It is compatible with Hitachi's Sequential Trip Mechanism Kit (sold separately), which is ideal for precision fastener placement.
The N5008AC is backed by a five-year limited warranty.

Hitachi Stapler,
This review is from: Hitachi N5008AC 1-Inch to 2-Inch 7/16-Inch Medium Crown 16 Gauge Stapler (Tools & Home Improvement)
A very solid staple gun. So far I have shot almost 10,100 staples through it without a jam. Depth adjustment is decent. haven't used that to much so far. I turn my compressor down or up according to application anyway. If you are using kiln dried white cedar shingles you don't want to be hitting them with 110 psi even if the depth is set, get me? I have also used this tool for Sheetrock strapping using 2" staples, but primarily cedar shingle siding. A great multipurpose and light gun.

Nice, but...,

I bought this stapler new, and I must saw the thing is beautiful to use. I use it for framing so the thing gets a lot of use every day. The only issue I have with it is the magazine for the staples is made of plastic. I did not think it was a big deal until one of my employees let it slide off the roof we were sheating. The magazine broke cleanly in two. The rest of the stapler is very well built, but I think that the magazine should be made of some sort of metal, say magnesium or aluminum. This would make a good stapler, the best stapler in my opinion.

Hitachi Wins Hands Down,
This review is from: Hitachi N5008AC 1-Inch to 2-Inch 7/16-Inch Medium Crown 16 Gauge Stapler (Tools & Home Improvement)
I'm a redwood/cedar fencing contractor. I've tried many brands of nail guns - Senco, Porter Cable and others, only to have them go belly up and face a repair bill which is greater than the cost of the original gun. Several years ago I switched to Hitachi framers and (15 gauge) finish nailers and have never had a single breakdown - and they're used day in and day out. Recently I contacted to build a 300+ foot wire fence. Not wanting to hand hammer 4 to 5 thousand staples, I bought a Hitachi N5008AC Stapler. It was superb! Not a single glitch in that many firings. I highly recommend this stapler.
