The Hitachi NT65GB is Hitachi's newest cordless 16 gauge angled finish nailer. The Hitachi NT65GB is powered by a gas fuel rod and Lithium battery for complete portability. Freedom from cumbersome air hose and a compressor saves time in setup, during applications, and in jobsite clean up. The Hitachi NT65GB is lightweight at only 4 pounds for balance, maneuverability and minimal user fatigue. The Hitachi NT65GB is ideal for overhead and extended use applications. The Hitachi NT65GB is equipped with a quick clear nose with tool-less jam release for easy maintenance and reduced downtime. A double lock fuel compartment latches securely and keeps the fuel rod seated firmly, while the Hitachi 3.6volt Lithium Ion battery drives up to 2,000 fasteners on a single charge. The Hitachi NT65GB has a low battery indicator to prevent unexpected downtime and when it is time to charge your batteries the Hitachi NT65GB comes with a 1-hour AC/DC charger that can charge from a wall socket or a car outlet. The Hitachi NT65GB features a tool-less depth of drive adjustment as well as a detachable no-mar nose cap to protect work surfaces.The NT65GB has a variable position hook to accommodate both left and right-handed users and a dry fire lockout prevent blank activation.

I bought this nailgun new because I had a whole house of trim to install. I used it about four hours and it started making a very loud squeal/groan. I think the piston was having problems. I took it to the local approved repair shop who sent it to the factory for repair. Two months later it was back. Four hours of use later and it stopped working again. Just stopped working, no other symptoms. This time I sent it directly to the factory for repair and a month later I got it back. I again used it for about four hours and it has again died. I have gone through all the trouble-shooting and cleaning as directed in the book. I used Hitachi nails and fuel and did not drop it or in any way abuse it. I have done extensive DIY projects and own alot of tools. I am not going to go to the expense and wasted time of sending it back to be repaired again. It is going in the garbage. And yes, the trim got done. I did it all with my trusty hammer and nails. The warrenty for this item is for repair only, not replacement if defective.

The only thing I dislike is not being able to use Paslode fuel rods, -unlike the Hitachi gas powered framing nailer, which uses the same fuel rod as the Paslode, and is readily available at local retailers, this finish nailer uses a shorter, unique fuel rod that must be purchased online. Other than having to plan ahead for fuel, this is an awesome nailer for the money.
