Product Description

Hitachi NV45AE 1-3/4-Inch Coil Roofing Nailer with Side Load Magazine, Hex Bar Wrenches and Safety Glasses

From the Manufacturer

The Hitachi NV45AE 1-3/4-Inch Coil Roofing Nailer with Side Load Magazine combines Hitachi's traditional (2) cylinder valve firing system with new features. The NV45AE's low recoil, cylinder valve system, optimized weight and well-balanced design provide the best driving feel for users. Minimal air consumption per shot and a pneumatic air feeding mechanism deliver stable fasteners nail after nail. Features include an improved push lever with 3-point carbide inserts and a tar resistant design to prevent wear. This new push lever lasts 2-times longer than the previous model (NV45AB2) and provides additional savings over the life of the tool. The push lever disperses excess tar during normal nailing. A full round head driver blade provides for smooth and perfectly flat nail placement. Fewer cupped nails mean a flatter roof, less likely to be damaged by the elements. A last nail magnet stops nail waste by holding the final nail in place during fastening. The magazine protector prevents magazine wear when repeatedly placed on asphalt shingles and reduces nailer sliding. This nailer's side load magazine makes for quick nail replenishment. Its tool-less depth of drive adjustment adds precision when nailing in a variety of materials. Pneumatic power feed and return allows tool to operate in the harshest conditions. The Hitachi NV45AE 1-3/4-Inch Coil Roofing Nailer with Side Load Magazine comes with a 5-year limited warranty. Hitachi Power Tools provides professional-grade power tools for a variety of applications, including woodwork, metalwork, concrete, drilling, cutting and fastening. Since its inception, Hitachi has pioneered innovative technologies that have improved the quality of craftsmanship worldwide. Hitachi is a leader in power tool research and development and has achieved many firsts in the power tool industry. Today, Hitachi continues the tradition of innovation and engineering with new features in addition to classic quality.

I've used this hatachi coil nailer for about 1000 squares. 3-tab, 30yr dim, and 50yr comp shingles. No problems what so ever.We work in all weather conditions. The gun runs smooth and fast. Been a roofer for 15 years, paslode, makita, and bostich, this gun leaves them in the dust as far as a money maker. The main thing is to oil the gun, keep it clean, and adjust the psi high enough.

This is an improvement over the previous model. It seems quieter and stronger and more accurate. It's worth the upgrade.

I am part of a roofing crew that averages 2 roofs a week. I was interested in buying an air nailer for myself to do side jobs. I chose the Hitachi because of the reputation and good reviews. I used this air nailer for one job and was completely unsatisfied. This gun jammed many times, shot inconsistently and broke nail heads. I have used Bostitch, DeWalt, Max and now Hitachi air nailers and no gun comes close to the Max Super Roofer. I promptly returned the Hitachi (no problems with Amazon, great customer service) and will buy my own Max Super Roofer at some point.

I had some problems with the nailer on the second day of use. The shingle gauge came off the allen screws that held it on came out there was no easy way to tighten these screws. Had to put it back together with only one screw leaving part of the guard off. There was a bushing that had to go in and then the screw but there was no easy way to do it on the job. The nailer worked well after that. We had a few jams with it but I was not using hitachi nails but they were not hard to clear. Had the screws not come out I would give it 5 stars.
