This is a nice drive - very fast and quiet. The price is good too. If you're looking to upgrade your laptop hard drive (as I did) this is a good choice (if your laptop's BIOS supports it) as it's rotational speed is faster than almost all laptop drives (most are 4800 or 5400 rpm) and it has a nice big buffer. While it's a SATA I drive (not SATA II) and is limited to 150MB/sec, most laptop's can't handle the faster SATA II drives throughput anyway AND SATA I is compatible with more laptops.

Another good use for this nice and fast drive is as a backup unit. Buy yourself a 2.5" eSATA, firewire or USB enclosure ($10-$70) and make this an external unit.

Get this fast serial ata drive, an IBM Serial ATA drive caddy, and Acronis True Image. Then you can clone your hard drive to your backup drive in a snap. Works great. Nice and fast drive. I wish is was BIGGER.
