UU610CZ vs UU610, T3, T3B,
By
This review is from: Hitachi UU610CZ 12-foot Miter Saw Stand (Tools & Home Improvement)
Be aware that the model sold at Lowe's for $159 is the UU610CZ, a "little bother" model to the UU610. The beam is shorter, it cannot accept an "extension stop," and it DOES NOT INCLUDE THE ROLLER FENCE AND STOP. It is a "price point" model designed to sell for around $150. It does, however, include the wheel kit.
Note also that this is a "universal" miter stand, and can accomodate any size and any brand of miter saw, not just 12" and not just Hitachi. I'm giving 4 stars because at only $30-$40 less than the UU610, unless you just don't need the capacity or the roller fence and stop, and you do need the wheels, it doesn't seem like as good a value as the UU610, T3B, or T3. The Hitachi UU610, Bosch T3B, and TracRac T3 are all made by TracRac and are exactly the same basic stand, differing only in COLOR (green, blue, or black) and in which accessorias are included. ALL are "universal" stands, and include identical saw mounts. The T3 includes an extension, extension flip stop, and wheel kit. If you want "everything," this is the best value vs. buying one of the other two stands and purchasing the accessories. The T3B includes the wheel kit but not the extension stop (although TracRac customer support says it does include the extension, just not the stop, but this doesn't make any sense, and the extension is not shown in any of the pictures). The UU610 does not include the extension stop or the wheel kit. It does include a 'stop' that attaches to one of the roller fence rollers.

Can't go wrong with this stand,

This review is from: Hitachi UU610CZ 12-foot Miter Saw Stand (Tools & Home Improvement)
This stand appears to be the little brother of the UU610! Both are made by TracRac. The stand is very sturdy and lite. Assembly was simple and takes about 30 minutes give or take a few minutes upon your ablilies. Directions are simple pictures that anyone can follow. If you plan on leaveing your saw on the stand don't bother with the rubber feet because they will just get in the way of assembly or just put it in last. I mounted a Hitachi C10FSB sliding miter saw. IT fits perfectly since there is an added bar that you can mount for the trianglular mounting pattern. It appears that all saws will fit since the mounting materials will slide as far appart as you like. The dual extension arms extend out to 8 feet apart and will easily hold 12 to 16 ft of material. The big brother UU610 doesn't come with the extensions will cost an extra $70 to buy but are a little longer! This seems to be the perfect homeowner miter saw stand at a very reasonalble price!

Hitachi Miter Saw Stand,
This review is from: Hitachi UU610CZ 12-foot Miter Saw Stand (Tools & Home Improvement)
Overall I am pretty happy with this product. I am not very happy with the extension arms, not level to working table of chopsaw, a little to flimsy when adjusted to the height needed! For on site work, you can make it work!

This saw stand has over the last year been more and more of a dissapointment. As my peers have noticed the outriggers can not be leveled with the saw table... I repeat... CAN NOT be leveled... there is no adjustment available or possible... saw is too heavy for the table and this was the table suggested by Hitachi... when you grab that saw there is sway and motion back and forth. I can't help but wonder if this would be hazordous.

I've had the stand for more than a year and have grown increasingly disappointed. I'm using it w/a Makita LS1214L which is a little big but regardless the stand has inherent problems. The locking base has a tendancy to unlock during transport. The more you move it around, the greater the chance the saw will detach. The support rests can be difficult to level with the saw table making intricate trim cuts somewhat of a problem. Finally, the wheel base is now bent from rolling the saw around.
All-in-all, the stand is stable when in use but you have to be extra careful when in transport. If you wish to detach the saw everytime you relocate it, then the stand is acceptable. However, there are better compound miter saw stands in this price range.

I bought this stand only because it was a Hitachi and was lighter than some others. Once assembled and the miter saw was mounted did I realize what a
mistake I made. This stand is Very unstable, do the point that sometimes you think it's tipping over. I've since replaced it with the ridgid stand from HD and its like night and day. Their stand is rock solid and a true performer but it is heavy. I may add that the ridgid stand is much cheaper too.

Very sturdy and versatile while at the same time being compact and transportable if needed. Seems a bit overpriced, however.

I bought this table about 5 years ago and use it with the Delta model 36-322L 12" compound laser miter saw. I bought it so I could install crown molding and hardwood flooring. I love this table because it's easy to move from place to place without detaching the saw, because it has the adjustable supports for long pieces of wood, and because it's a good quality table. I'm puzzled about the wobbliness mentioned by others because I have not had that experience. My table is very sturdy. The legs stay locked in position at all times and when I need to move the saw, it's easy to lower the legs (first on the roller end, then the other end), lock them into the folded position, then wheel the table to it's new location. I bought this when I was in my mid fifties and am now in my early sixties and still find this table easy to move about.
As far as adjusting the supports for larger pieces of wood is concerned, it does take some time the first time you adjust them vertically, but once that's done, you don't ever have to do it again. The horizontal adjustment is what I find myself doing frequently because of the varying lengths of wood I'm using. But that is quick and easy to adjust; and once locked, they stay in place. The locks that secure the saw to the table are sturdy, too. I've never detected even the slightest bit of instability or looseness. That's very important to me because this is my first such saw and I tend to be overly cautious where saws are concerned (for example, I won't use the saw if I'm the slightest bit fatigued). I don't know if the design or manufacturing quality of this table has changed since I bought it 5 years ago, but I love it and haven't had any problems with it. It's of high quality construction, easy to move from location to location, very sturdy, very stable, and convenient.
