These tools are designed from Hitachi's exclusive 3-D cad design computer that simulates extreme conditions to create the most durable and efficient tools available. The 2 piece motor is constructed with heavy gauge copper coils and the striker is designed to deliver maximum power output while withstanding extreme heat and stress. These impacts offer Electronic feedback and external carbon brushes. A 5 position belt hook and small ergonomic design make these tools easy for the end user to handle. The WH9DMR delivers 930 inch pounds of torque from the 1/4" hex drive chuck.

I'm a Plumbing Contractor in Hawaii. My Dewalt 18v impact driver was starting to get heavy while working under sinks and in cabinets. In search of a lighter 9.6v, I tried the Dewalt (half a pound heavier than the rest of the 9.6v), a Bosch (feels like a toy and the motor runs rough like it has bad bearings), a Makita (pretty good but too costly just for the Nmh batteries), then the Hitachi...the motor spins very smooth, I love the belt hook (only brand with the hook), definitely the best bang for the buck.
