Okay, I'm pretty hard on apps. But it's only because there are sooooo many terrible ones out there; copycats, blatantly stupid, unimaginative, permissions up the wazoo, you name it. Bottom line most apps out there just plain ol' suck. And I'm pleased to say, Draw A Stickman is NOT one of those apps!

Now THIS is a truly original app; one that all others should sit up and take notice of. The game play is simple, straightforward, very well done, and most of all -- FUN! The controls are genius in their simplicity; anyone from 3 - 103 could play this and it would hold their interest. And best of all -- it's completely unique to each player, because WE get to draw the main character, and his friend, and then watch our creations be part of the game!

Stickman's friend is actually gobbled into the game and you have to rescue him. How cool is that? Touch the screen, and your stickman walks there. Touch a fuse with the fire pencil, and it lights, then blows up the dynamite to clear your path. Cool! Irreverent! Simple! Addictive! ...Oh, and did I mention Fun & Original? The soundtrack doesn't annoy me over time, like so many other terrible ones do in other apps.

It plays well both on my phone (LG Marquee) and my tablet (Toshiba Thrive.) No glitches, hiccups or crashes. Yes, I've seen other apps that have tried a similar concept of game play based on user drawn input, but they never rose to this level. Not even close. Most apps out there should be scrapped at the idea stage; they simply aren't worth the time and effort that goes into making them, let alone merit a consumer's time or money. In general, there's a big ho-hum factor in the caliber of Amazon's free App Of The Day offerings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and creative December 9, 2012

I had so much fun with this on my kindle that I got it for my daughter to play on her ipod and she loves it too. The further you play the more challenging it is. The last few levels were pretty tough. I really liked the way that the game lets you solve things different ways. The more creative you are the more fun you can have. I had fun drawing my own character and I really liked finding all the puzzle pieces to unlock the bonus level. After I finished the game I went through the trophy garden and found more fun things to go back and try. This game worked fine on my kindle fire (I have the regular kindle not the HD).

5.0 out of 5 stars so perfect!! November 24, 2012
By Makaii
This game is so crazy and fun and hilarious!!! I have played a LOT of mobile and Kindle games, and this has to be in the top 10 of all time (maybe top five). You don't just draw your characters, you use color and sketch drawing to solve puzzles, find clues, etc. It's just good fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious! January 1, 2013

I love it! I love that I get to use my own creations throughout the game. AND it isnt one of those boring pointless games where you draw your stickman & then jump over some stuff. Its actually kinda challenging. I mostly struggle when Im unaware of everything I can do. Like making a longer wick for my bomb so I dont blow up with it. I didnt know it would let me do something like that until I got stuck at that part & had to look at the hint. This is the kind of game that I spend alot time going back to make sure I did everything I could. Including burning stuff down that didnt need to be burned & electrocuting zombies. Nice. Highly recommend. I got it for free but now that I know how good it is I can say its worth paying for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clever Fun Puzzle Game February 5, 2013

As the title suggests this game is a clever take on the adventure game genre. You get to take an active role in your character, because you get to draw the hero, and the 'damsel in distress'. Each level is somewhat open ended in that you usually have a choice on which path to take. Another feature that I like in this game is that you get to draw your weapons/tools you will use to solve the level. You will be given a magic crayon or two that have special powers. The key crayon will make keys, the fire crayon makes fire, and so on, though admittedly I did get a little lazy in drawing some of the tools. I would give the replay-ability a 4 out of 5, because the levels don’t change, but they are fairly dynamic, so you can mess around in them for a while trying out new things. Fun clever game that I would recommend.

I love drawing my own characters! D: They're so cute an the game actually uses them well, no lagging or anything. Everything you draw works right. There's hints if you get stuck and a great story line. All in all I lo e it.

4.0 out of 5 stars yay! December 31, 2012

Discovered the free version a week ago and my daughters have been begging me to but the full. This game is cute and fun. My only complaint is that when drawing your figure, the line starts way to the left of where you touch the touchpad. Since my girls try to make their figures as weird as possible, this does not bother them. Solid 4 stars on this!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly EPIC December 31, 2012

I've played Drawn to Life 1 & 2 as well as Scribblenauts 1 & 2 and totally love the level of interactivity of those games so very much but have been disappointed that there are virtually zero games that offer that same style of interactivity until now! This is such a fun game that allows you to play a part in a story like one may have always wanted to growing up reading their picture books. This is funny and masterfully executed. One need not be an artist to enjoy this success of an entertainment media. Bravo developers I commend you!
