Book Description

Promise Harbor Wedding, Book 4
Allison Ralston would rather be anywhere other than this wedding. Especially since the wedding is hers. Marrying Josh is the responsible choice—except her ex-boyfriend has something to say about that. Something like, “Oh, hell no.”
She’s shocked—and okay, a little turned on—when Gavin Montgomery sweeps her off her feet—to Alaska. Now that he’s put four thousand miles between Allie and all her responsibilities, Gavin’s determined to show her that they can make a life together.  If he has his way, the next wedding Allie will be planning will be theirs.

I had been (not so) patiently waiting for Hitched and it finally came out. I truly loved this story and it was the perfect ending to a fantastic series. I thoroughly loved Gavin the entire book. He was such a phenomenal man who was simply perfect for Allie. I loved the way they complemented each other. I have read all of Erin Nicholas' books and not once have I been disappointed. She is a superb writer and I will read every book she releases.

Hitched is the 4th and final instalment of the Promise Harbor Wedding series.

After the groom (Jilted by Kelly Jamieson), the matron of honour (Bolted by Meg Benjamin) and the best man (Busted by Sydney Somers), we finally get to see the bride's version of the events in Hitched is, and I have to tell you I started Hitched with some trepidation because of Allie, the runaway bride and the heroine of Hitched. Why you might ask. Well for two reasons: 1) she left at the altar her fiancé, a nice guy through and through and disappeared for weeks without word to anyone, and 2) because she was about to get married with her ex-best friend's true love. But let's see if Hitched managed to redeem Allie in my eyes by showing us her side of the story...

From the previous instalments I already suspected that Allie and Josh's match was rather a marriage of convenience based on friendship and affection rather than passionate love, and here we were really shown how that was exactly the case. To Allie Josh acted more like a responsible, reliable big brother coming to the rescue, who was always there to lend his support and strength when the going got tough, and poor Allie didn't have it easy by losing her mom to cancer and having to take care of her family despite her own grief. I could see and understand how she took Josh as her escape from all the tiring responsibilities weighing her down, how nice it was to share her load with someone sympathetic and kind. I get that he was her rock and I even get why they would decide to get married, but they had absolutely no chemistry at all. It was like they were siblings or cousins.

This is an absolute wonderful ending to the Promise Harbor Series. Erin Nicholas did an amazing job answering the question "Where's Allie?". And Gavin was that answer. Oh, how I love an Erin Nicholas hero!

There are four books in this series that takes one event (a wedding) and shows it to readers from four different points of view.

This final installment of the Promise Harbor Series is about the run away bride, Allie and the love of her life, Gavin. We meet Allie and Gavin in the first book in the series, Jilted. We are left only knowing that Gavin has swept Allie away.
In Hitched, Allie is happy to let Gavin distract her from the stresses for the moment, but Gavin wants to prove to Allie that he can be more than a happy distraction. He can be the man that she depends on for everything, all the time.

I love Erin Nicholas's voice. One of the things that I can always depend on when reading one of her stories is that voice. You are not simply reading the story, you feel like you are experiencing the story. Another thing I can always count on is her humor. Who doesn't love a book that can make you giggle and laugh out loud? And most of all I always fall in love with her heroes. Hitched was no different.

I highly recommend this book and the entire Promise Harbor Series.

I looked forward to the Promise Harbor series for months and months, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the books, and I've enjoyed reading each one and despite the common thread through the books, they are each very different. As I read the last book in the series, Hitched, I really respected the uniqueness of each book. I was lucky enough to interview the four authors of this series and realized what an undertaking this series was. The fact that they pulled off this highly entertaining and fun series is amazing, but the best part of all they did it with smiles on their faces, kept the sense of humor intact, and they wrote four pretty awesome books. I feel for Erin because she's the caboose so to speak in this series; her book has to tie up the loose ends and tie all four books together neatly, on top of that her heroine is a woman who left a perfectly nice (and hot) guy at the altar and her hero is the one that showed up to break the wedding up in the first place. I read a few reviews of Kelly Jamieson's Jilted, the first one in the series, and there were people saying they didn't even want to read Hitched because they were angry with Allie for leaving Josh at the altar. To them I ask, did you REALLY read Jilted? Because believe me Josh is much better off because Allie left him at the altar. So while yes, maybe she should have realized it before the "big" day, it really was the right thing to do and in Hitched we see just why it was the best move for everyone involved.

Gavin Montgomery set tongues to wagging once again when he stormed the church and took off with his ex-girlfriend and the current bride to be of another man, Allie Ralston.
