Good Clean Fun December 27, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
G.M. Jackson has assembled a group of short essays that good naturedly take on some of the paradoxes, preachments, and just plain silliness of theism, religion, and the Bible. His mixture of logic and playfulness demonstrate how easy it is to "roast" religion. This is an amusing read for non-believers and possibly even for believers who don't take themselves too seriously.

Hilarious! January 26, 2011

If had to use one word to describe this book it would have to be hilarious! But don't take my word for it, read the free sample. This book starts out with a battle between God and Satan and shows why Satan wins if the Bible is taken literally. It then discusses why prayer can make you late for every appointment. I especially liked the bit about the new intelligent design theory where god poofs Adam into existence fully designed and naked. There is also a section on how proof of god can falsify god which I found thought provoking.

Another funny and thought-provoking piece was the bit about how theists are really atheists when no one is looking. My personal favorite has to be the intelligent piddler theory which further makes fun of intelligent design theory.

When I first viewed this page, this book was listed as number 2 in the Atheism category and number 1 in the Agnostic category. The reviews of this book were mixed at best. That begged the question: Why is this book selling so well?

One other reviewer thinks the book is worth more than 99 cents, another thinks it's worth 99 cents and yet another thinks it's worthless. Such information only brought more confusion to my brain, so rather than risk 99 cents of my hard-earned money, I decided to read this book on a friend's kindle. Here is what I discovered:

The book reveals the atheist's worldview with far fewer words than other atheist books I have read. I was able to read the book in one sitting and I think it covered every atheistic point and argument out there.

I also liked the simple, informal language topped off with some humor. If you are curious about the atheist's worldview and only have a dollar to spend, This book is probably your best bet.

An utter waste of my time and money
Really bad ! It seems the writer wrote this quickly and without much consideration given to making his ideas cogent. It seemed like a ramble at best. Read more

None
G.M. Jackson doesn't do atheists and the nontheist community any favors with this messy little piece of writing. Even at just 99 cents there is nothing here that's worth it. Read more

Not very good
This could have been written by a middle-school aged kid. It's not very good. Don't waste your time or money.

Meh
The author doesn't take on the self-important tone of a lot of other prominent atheists, and if you want a quick fly-by of some of the biggies like Dawkins, etc. Read more

Funny!
The arguments in this series of essay are funny and cogent to me. Theists may not find it as amusing, but behind the humor are some fundamental flaws in any type of theism.

Using other author's names in the title is pretty low
I must admit that my disappointment with this book is my own fault. I read the title as "Blame Hitchens, Dawkins & Harris--Essays of New Atheism". Read more

too short
It is too short even for $0.99. It is almost like cheating !!

The content is good though. It would be much better if 2-3 such books are bundled together in one.
