Product Description

The Hitech 3.0 Neutral Density PROSTOP 10 Stop Filter for Lee Holder has been designed for use on long exposures allowing use of much slower shutter speeds. The visible effects created by using longer exposures is the effect of motion blur on any movement within your pictures, such as clouds, waterfalls, seas and rivers. The PROSTOP filter is fitted with a foam gasket perimeter, which creates a seal between the filter holder and lens, thus reducing light spillage around the sides of the filter.

This product has several flaws. First it it not as sharp as either the Lee Big Stopper or the B+W filters. It also has the worst Color shift of the three units. What makes it particularly bad is that it shifts different colors differently thus making it hard to properly correct the Color cast. I have a slightly used one for sale.

The Hitech neutral density filter for Lee filter holders has a horrible blue color cast. Adjusting white balance in PS or LR can mitigate this, but images must be shot in RAW. I purchased this because the Singh Ray Bigstopper is pretty much unavailable at this time and it was a poor purchasing decision.

I wanted to like the hitech pro stop. It takes decent quality images, but it creates this really bad blue color cast that is really hard to fix in post-processing. When you warm up the colors it tends to give you these bad browns that I could never get to look right. It also vignetted pretty bad on a Canon EF-S 10-22. A lot of my images also showed a bit of blur on stationary objects even when sharply focused. This was after returning my first filter back to Adorama. After giving up on this filter I got word that a store had some Lee Big Stoppers in stock so I bought one. All I can say is that the Lee performs exactly as the Hitech should have from the start. Honestly, skip this filter and get something else. I know for a fact the Lee is better, and have also heard the B+W 10 stops are pretty good too.

I really wanted to love this because on other sites it got good ratings. It was supposed to have been fixed so that there is no cast, but untrue...it has a terrible blue cast that is hard to get out in post processing.

Way too much of a blue cast now I use it as a backdrop to take pictures of jewelry not a complete loss
