I was having trouble with one of my Midland two-way radios, 650 series. I first tried replacing the problem radio battery pack with alkaline batteries and the radio worked fine. So I purchased two of these and the radios, which are 4 years old, perform like new again. A bad battery pack can cause weird problems that you don't think would be caused by batteries, but they are.
