Product Description

Third-person action shooter from Io Interactive, originally released on PC. Players assume the role of "47," a retired hitman who was once considered the best in his particular field. The title opens up as 47 is living peacefully in Sicily and trying to cope with some of the horrible atrocities he committed in his dark, mysterious past. Shortly after attending confession, 47 learns that his priest and mentor has been kidnapped by the mafia, and so he decides to temporarily come out of retirement to get him back. Carnage, naturally, ensues. The game jettisons players through 20 missions that span across such areas as Sicily, Japan, St. Petersburg, India and even Malaysia.

Pick up contracts in exotic locations around the globe: Sicily, St. Petersburg, Japan, Malaysia, and India; Operate in a non-linear world where the outcome of your actions and proficiency as a hitman are measured on a balance between stealth and aggression; Stalk and eliminate your targets up close and personal, in either 1st or 3rd person perspectives; Execute your assignments with a diverse arsenal of equipment, from armor-piercing sniper rifles and explosives to chloroform and poison darts; Acquire and carry weapons and tools from mission to mission through an enhanced inventory and save-game system; Original soundtrack composed by Jesper Kyd and performed by The Budapest Symphony Orchestra.

5.0 out of 5 stars This game OWNS June 24, 2003
By A Customer
in the game Hitman 2, you become the role of a retired assassin. Now, I dont want to give away the storyline of the game but it takes you to various places in the world, in which you must do mission such as assassination, sabotage of different technology and many other objectives. Throughout the game, you have access to huge amounts of weaponry such as assault rifles, pistols, submachineguns, and sniper rifles. In this game, you are able tochange your clothes acording to those that soldiers or civilians wear to get to your target. This is one of the most realistic games I have ever seen for a game consol. There are many more reasons why this game is so awsome but the 1,000 word limit here would not allow me to write them all.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real challenge August 8, 2005
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
To think that Hitman 2 is an action shooter is a big mistake. If what you want is to go out and star killing everything in plain sight buy a XBOX or a PS2, there TONS of games like that for those consoles... anyway, the real thing about Hitman 2, what makes it really special, is the fact that is more like a puzzle.

The challenge is to make the hit without having to kill anyone else but the target. You just CANT go out shooting everyone cause most times it just wont work. The game requires thinking and patiens.

For blood thirsty players these is the "wrongest" game there can be. For players that love inteligent and elegant gaming, you must at least rent these one. Its a true challenge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as awesome as it was on PS2 and XBOX. February 27, 2003
This game is just as awesome as it was on PS2 and XBOX. The graphics are great, with realistic looking weapons, and some gory effects. The game can be played using stealth tactics, or the all guns blazing approach. The game is definetely not for kids, also due to the game's difficulty. Simply put, this game can get hard! Some levels boil down to a complex game of trial and error. However, the game is very open-ended. each of the missions can be played several times, each time having a different experience. If you own it already, this Gamecube port has little new, outside of 1 new mission and slightly smoother graphics. If you do not own it, buy immediately!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a great game for gamers, not for whiners... March 10, 2005

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I got this game and started to play it as soon as I got it, I played the 1st version of the game in computer, and I was kind of disappionted since it was pretty hard, and you had to work a hell lot to win it. But this one is great, it makes you work your mind, and try to solve the mission. The best part is that you can solve it in different ways.. so u can always win ajajaja. I am still playing it.. it's kind of hard.. the nature of the game makes you be silent, and careful at you moves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Have February 14, 2004
By Leslie
Bottom line...BUY THIS GAME!! It is worth every penny. You will have hours of enjoyment, wait... Days of enjoyment. Why? Because you will discover there are multiple ways in completing missions. The enemy AI is excellent and will keep you on your toes. You'll have the ability to subdue enemies and disguise yourself in their clothing, but be carefull not to look too suspicious by running, carrying the wrong weapon, or even letting the enemy see your face. The AI is that good. If you run you can alert enemies in the next room or even floor above. The weapons are first class with a wide variety: Axe,Swords, knives, pistols, anesthetic, Rifles, remote bombs, smoke bombs, even a golf club. Missions can be completed with guns blazing or with total "silence"(a bonus is given when you achieve a rating of "silent assassin") As I said, there are number of different ways of completing missions: Pick em off from long range or sneak up on them and strangle them with your fiber wire. Graphics are excellent and the locations are top notch. The realism in this game is top notch as well: knock a guy out with the choloroform and wait too long, he will wake up 5-10 min. later and alert the guards, when using the scope on your sniper rifle you'll have to wait while your breathing regulates for a steady shot. Another plus is the ability to save your game at any point making it playable at anytime.
This game will give you days of fun with the ability to go back and play it again using a different approach with your level of aggression or stealth.

It's a great game, and although it is a great port, it never is quite as good as if it was made explicitly for the system.
