5.0 out of 5 stars Finally. June 30, 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Very glad to see a Hitman collection with all four games in it. So far I've only seen collections that had the second, third and fourth games in it, like that makes any sense. These versions seem like they're patched and up to date. I installed the first one on Windows 7, 64-bit and it fired right up and without the crashing I remember from the early versions of the game.

It seems unfathomable, but I guess some people haven't played these games (although why anyone wouldn't have played them is beyond me) so I'll give a brief summary of what kind of gameplay you'll see. The old byline went something like "Travel to interesting places. Meet interesting people...and kill them". Hitman is an unapologetically violent game about (obviously) killing targets, but most of the gameplay involves stealthily maneuvering the levels, learning the routes and habits of all the NPCs and selecting your preferred ways of achieving the objectives. It's essentially like a rat maze with the cheese at the end being the murder of your primary target. There are options to play it as a shooter, but it requires quite a bit of skill to get through the levels that way. Also, the newer the game, the more they discourage you from playing like it's a shooter. There is some stealth influence from the Thief games which were also Eidos, but those expected you to only knock people out and not kill them. Hitman expects you to kill as many people as you like, but to do so quietly. The levels recreate locations all over the world and often with well-known landmarks. They also used a ton of action and gangster film references throughout the series.

Been playing Hitman since the beginning so I'm proudly biased. The first one is adorably campy with all kinds of exploitable glitches, bad A.I.

I got this set because it contained every game from the Hitman series. The first 3 games are on one disc, while Blood Money has its own separate disc. $9 was a good price for all of them.

All four games in one. Difficult to find Hitman 3 these days as a standalone component. Awesome since it packs all games in one pack.

Hitman 1 codename 47 all the way up to Bloodmoney. Its exactly what its says. All of them work great on my acer aspire laptop 64 bit with windows 7. No problems so far but i only had it for 2 days. Shipped and received quick got it in about 7 days, and im in afghanistan! There is no book or anything inside the game case but it tells you everything u need when u download the games. Downloading is simple and easy. It took me about 20 minutes at the most to download all the games. Buy this if your a fan of the series, its amazing you wont be disappointed.

I used to think that the Hitman games were lame. But the games are more intelligent than I gave them credit for and I did not know better until I was informed otherwise.

The challenge is to kill only the target without alerting the other NPCs. Stealth in Hitman does not mean only hiding in the shadows and going from point A to point B in a mostly linear path hiding from enemies and executing a sequence of events. It has a very open format - kudos to the makers. How you complete your objective is up to you. It involves hiding in plain sight which can mean disguises to reach close to the target, knocking out guards using anesthetic, sniping from afar but making sure no one see you, engineering accidents, planting bombs near the targets to either distract or kill. All these can be used to complete a level in multiple ways or used in conjunction on the same level. It can also be pure stealth - learn the movement patterns of the NPCs and steal around them. Just one more point, you also need to escape. So if you go in close and do not succeed in a clean kill, the guards are alerted and you may not be able to escape.

Blood money is the best of the lot in the sense that the number of ways to complete the missions are virtually unlimited. Hitman 2 is the most realistic and also the hardest but again with multiple ways to complete. Note that the aim is to get the "Silent Assassin" rank - the highest achievable - and that is not dependent on any particular method. You can also KO or kill anyone you like in any manner you see fit but that can affect the rankings. Also each mission can be completed in less than 15 minutes and games who want to challenge themselves do it in less than 5 minutes or even less - all with the highest "Silent Assassin" ranking.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME January 31, 2014

Ever since my copy of Codename 47 got wrecked, I always wanted to get the game again, but figured it'd be expensive, failing to realize its been probably a decade since the game first game out. I didn't want to pirate it, even though I had previously purchased it because I have no way to prove that. For the hell of it I went on Amazon to see if I could buy it and how expensive it would be. I was shocked at how cheap it was, and it came with the sequels!

People complained that Codename 47 didn't work for them, it was fine for me. My machine is a Dell XPS8500 64bit Windows 8.1 Intel i7-3770, and it worked flawlessly for me. I did not install the version of DirectX (7 i think) that came with Codename 47, rather I used what version i already had (Version 11).

I can't comment on Hitman II, Contracts, or Blood Money, I haven't tested them. I am thrilled though to get to play this game again, which i thought would never happen, despite it being one of my favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4 Classic Games at very low cost... NICE!
The product wasn't for me, was a gift for a cousin who's a really big fan of Hitman's saga.

It includes 4 games at the price of a used game? It was a great deal!
