Normally I'm not too fond of Greatest Hits collections. I mean, it's nice to have a selection of singles by your favourite artist on one disc, but fans hardly ever get something new anymore. Any new tracks usually end up as singles, so there's no incentive to buy the album. But now Greatest Hits are set for a make over as Dannii Minogue enters the arena again to give her critics a wake-up call with `The Hits Beyond'. With 15 of her best singles, plus 5 new tracks so we are reminded that there is still a lot more to come.


We follow Ms Minogue through her attitude laced pop beginnings with 4 singles (LOVE AND KISSES, SUCE$$, JUMP TO THE BEAT and BABY LOVE) from her first album `Love And Kisses', and the classic single THIS IS IT from her second album `Get Into You'.

We also hear Dannii as she crosses over into dance territory via the trance undertones from her 3 `Girl' singles; ALL I WANNA DO, EVERYTHING I WANTED and the beautiful DISREMBERANCE. Dannii's most popular electronic pop/dance sound is cemented with the 4 `Neon Nights' singles (WHO DO YOU LOVE NOW, PUT THE NEEDLE ON IT, I BEGIN TO WONDER and DON'T WANNA LOSE THIS FEELING), and 2 non-album releases YOU WON'T FORGET ABOUT ME and PERFECTION.

And there's also a glimpse into the future style and sound of Dannii with new single SO UNDER PRESSURE. If you loved Dannii's `Girl' + releases, and adore bands like Goldfrapp you will love this. Co-wrote by Dannii and Terry Ronald it is a catchy song with a great video to go with it.

Then we get to the `Beyond' section. I CAN'T SLEEP AT NIGHT is a catchy, confessional track, which has great single potential. GOOD TIMES; a pleasant summery, pop number which is great for by the pool or on the beach. SUNRISE is stand out track, which has a slight rock sound to it, another single worthy track. What can I say about GONE other then wow? Dark & sultry. If you like PUT THE NEEDLE ON IT, you a bound to enjoy this tribute to a lover. However the best track of all has to be LOVE FIGHT. If you've visited Dannii's website or Pop Justice you'll have seen the hype surrounding this. Can it live up to it? Yes!! My fingers are crossed this retro-sounding pop/dance track sees a single release! Tongue-in-cheek, fun & instantly catchy this has been called by some the best song Dannii's ever done. I think I may agree...


2006 marks Dannii's 15th year as a recording artist, so it's time for old fans to take a fond look back on her best works, and I'm sure she'll have plenty of new fans after this.

Okay, Dannii may not be as successful as her older sister Kylie but what she has achieved, she deserves and this album shows why. Not only does it include the Hits but this version also comes with a PAL format DVD(makes sure you have a DVD player that can play this European format type of DVD because not every player is able to play PAL format DVDs). Being an American Dannii fan means that I've only been able to see her videos on enhanced cds and on the internet where the quality is not that great, so it's fabulous to finally have them on DVD. It's cool to see not only how Dannii's musical style has changed but also how Dannii herself has changed. I perfer the new videos to the older ones. I have a hard time picking my favorite video but I really like-Put the Needle on it, I begin to wonder, You won't forget about me, Perfection, So under pressure,and I can't sleep at night. In the "This is It" video, you can see Julian McMahon from TV's Nip/Tuck appear. He was married to Dannii at the time but sadly the marriage did not last. Seeing the dancing and the fashion in the older videos is fun to see.

The Music
Like the DVD, I enjoy listening to Dannii's more recent material. I was a fan of her sister first and was interested in hearing Dannii's material and when I heard "I begin to wonder" back in 2003, I instantly became a Dannii fan. I really adore all the Neon Nights singles. To me, Dannii has never released a bad single so I love all of the hits that are on the cd. I also love all the "Beyond" songs. Love fight and Sunrise are my two favorites of the new material, I can't sleep at night is a very close third.

So if you're new to Dannii Minogue's music, this is a perfect place to start. If you're an established Dannii fan, you know this collection is a must for you, especially the DVD version. I know I'll be listening to the cd and watching the DVD every day!

This is great! We get almost all the really great tracks, plus a few new ones. The best of those being 'I cant sleep at night'. Its the single that SHOULD have been released over a year ago. Yet because of online leaks, it was replaced with 'Perfection'. That isnt such a bad track either, in fact, this whole set has a few really good standouts. All the hit tracks from her 1997 'Girl' album are here, as are the ones from 'Neon Nights', with the exception of the German only release 'Come and get it'. She could've thrown in some rare tracks, like her hits with Eurogroove or 'Everlasting Night'.. still a great deal. Get it.

This album is absolutely a must have for anyone in to dance or disco oriented music, you will bounce and jump to every track y'all!

Dannii Minogue has always lived in the shadow of her more famous sister, Kylie, yet that hasn't stopped her from etching out a successful career for herself. Like Kylie, Dannii has mastered the art of making fun dance-pop.

This collection features all of her popular dance hits from the early '90s including her covers of "Baby Love" and "Jump the Beat", to her late '90s club faves "All I Wanna Do" and "Everything I Wanted" to her 2003 smashes "Who Do You Love Now", "I Begin To Wonder" and "Put the Needle On It".

There is a batch of new songs here including the fantastic "So Under Pressure" which is definitely one of Dannii's finest songs. Unfortunately the other new songs fail to live up to "Pressure" since they sound too much like filler.

If you like Kylie's dance-pop music, I am confident you will equally enjoy Dannii's music.

I have to say that I seldom see as great collections as this one. There's 15 Dannii's greatest hits and 5 new great tracks! Dannii Minogue is not only as beautiful as her sister, she has also as great voice as Kylie! I have heard three of her albums before: "Neon Nights", "Love And Kisses", and "Girl", and I have to say that they have made great choices! They have taken four songs from "Love And Kisses": "Love And Kisses", "$ucce$$", "Jump to the Beat", and "Baby Love". They have taken three songs from "Girl": "All I Wanna Do", "Everything I Wanted", and "Dismembrance". They have taken four songs from "Neon Nights": "Who Do You Love Now?", "Put the Needle on It", "I Begin to Wonder", and "Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling". There's also "This Is It" which was a great hit. I would have taken also the song "Push" from "Neon Nights" because it is such a great song...but you cannot have it all into one CD. DVD is perfect! All of her 16 music videos - they are awesome!

because i was waiting for this album to come! i love it, all the new "beyond" songs are so good and worth buying. "love fight" and "i can't sleep at night" are the best new songs on the cd. if you're a dannii minogue fan, you'll love it.

This is an excellent CD for fans and collectors to buy all the songs are really cool and the quality of sound is excellent also.

Of course, if you are a Dannii fan like me, you will love this CD. There are several good songs on there from her earlier days that I just love, especially, "All I Wanna Do". I was unfamiliar with her work previous to "Neon Nights", and I'm so glad this hits collection has opened up my eyes. The 5 new tracks on the end of the CD don't disappoint either. If you aren't that familiar with Dannii, but love electronic and dance music, this is an absolute must for you. The one let-down is the bonus CD with her videos on it. A few of her more recent vids are good, but pretty much all of her older ones are rather boring and cheaply made...somewhat characteristic of European pop vids, I've found.
