5.0 out of 5 stars What the heck just happened?, May 12, 2009
By
Maiskhe (Crossroads of Sanity) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hits From the Bow (Audio CD)
This is one of those (METAL) albums that... upon the first listen (preferably with headphones)... your first reaction is something similar to: "What just happened!?!!?!?"

Okay, so you stepped outside for a smoke. You decided to take your ipod with you. You put on your headphones. You check out the last album you got. Oh, Arsonists Get All the Girls. What a funny name. Let's check it out.

*time passes and the album ends*

WHAT WAS THAT!?

I really feel like something exciting just happened!!! But all I did was listen to music!!!

Weird.

THIS IS INSANELY INTENSE! The band name sounds like a joke but when you listen to it all doubts dissipate into a corner of the wall where you want to go HIDE because you are SCARED because the MUSIC was just freaking INSANELY HEAVY and you're just NOT SURE what just HAPPENED!!! This CD is going to jail for raping my ears, honestly!

That's how I'd describe this.

Check this out! You might like it and you might not but I have a feeling if you like intense metal it might be the former!

5.0 out of 5 stars metalcore opinion, June 16, 2010
If your a fan of metalcore you'll probably like this album.

Its a decent mix between metal and hardcore, little bit more on the grind side of things honestly. Expect fast songs.

There are two vocalists in this band.

You can expect breakdowns and the vocalists you hear is essentially what you get. I enjoy both vocalists actually and they blend really well together. It can be confusing because for the longest time I thought it was the same person who just recorded himself twice in production like some bands do to thicken up certain parts.

There are no clean vocals.

As far as the music goes, its really fast passed and a lot of transitions and extremely memorable parts. They're a talented group and wrote some fun to hear music, it has alot of energy in it.

I recommend you check a full song out on youtube but really, its a great addition to any collection for fans of metalcore/hardcore.

I personally really enjoy the CD and it'll frequent my usual rotation. Its got alot of high energy and some great breakdowns and fast parts. Each song is unique minus of course, its all the same style of grind music. Keyboardists are a great touch as well!

Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than "The Game of Life", January 23, 2008
By
Italvyrie (Planet Earth) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hits From the Bow (Audio CD)
When I first got into Arsonists Get All the Girls. I had purchased "The Game of Life". I really loved and enjoyed the game of life, but ever since I purchased "Hits from the Bow" from Amazon, I couldn't stop listening to it. It just blew me away. I just loved the raw sound of this CD from the beginning. I love how AGATG uses synthesizers to add a whole new dimension to the brutality. They are truly quite a unique band. I could recognize the vocals of Remi Rodberg and Cameron Reed easily and know it was AGATG. If you're sick and tired of the same run-of-the-mill metal band, check these talented guys out. They are definitely worth a listen. Definitely pick up this CD!
