OK but maybe a better compilation will come along sometime,
This review is from: Hits & Rarities (Audio CD)
I like the fact that this compilation has some songs on here that aren't on my other Greatest Hits CD, but what is striking is there's still no clean copy of "Sealed With A Kiss" which still has vinyl noise from what sounds like a rather heavy tonearm playing the record, (this is also the same for the other more common Greatest Hits CD), also the last three cuts on the CD, #30-32, Cleo, Rosemary, and The Night I Cried, appear to all have come from mono vinyl that wasn't even MONOED to clean up the sound. You can hear vinyl scratches separately on left and right and some sibilance distortion. This is very sloppy for a supposedly professional production. The labeing is alright but nothing special, that could just as well have been produced by a sophisticated homebrew setup. That is, the label on the CD is kind of an opaque sort of shiny finish with black lettering that might as well have been embedded with one of those CD label printers, and the front label in the jewel case is a very thin one-page glossly with pic on the front then tack list on the inside. It appears to have been professionally printed though with modern technology, could have been printed by a pirate I suppose, though don't quote me on that. Although it was nice to hear more of Brian Hyland's music, the songs that are duplicates from another greatest hits CD don't sound quite a bright as on other CDs, yet most of them still sound remarkably clean save for the vinyl-sounding cuts. I'm certainly glad for getting this collection but I'm a bit disappointed that such a sloppy job was done, especially for the cuts tacked on at the end of the CD. A little more post production work and quality control please. Just my 2 cents' worth, unfortunately from an audio critic standpoint.

ALL the HITS ARE HERE and MORE!,
This review is from: Hits & Rarities (Audio CD)
Hyland had 22 songs on the pop chart between 1960 to 1971, all 22 here.
The first 22 tracks are in chronological order of thier release. The last 10 songs here consist of four b-side, and six rarites. The rarites are: 1. "Angel in my heart". 2. "Somewhere in the night". 3. "Cozy little compact car". 4. "Baby face". 5. "Cleo". 6. "Rosemary" These 32 tracks make a great compilation by Birchmont label. Footnote: - One song not here is "Save your heart for me", though it is only the b-side of "I'm afraid to go home" in 1963, it is one that I have heard and like so much, I would miss it not being here. It IS on the "Brian Hyland" c.d. with the cover being red and yellow all over, on "Rock in beat" label, made in Germany. That c.d. also has ALL 22 hits, with them being the first 22 tracks on the c.d. in chronological order, plus 5 b-sides and 3 others, - total 30 tracks. I perfer the last 8 selections there a bit more then what is offered on this c.d.
