Tribe,
By Rob AZ (Tucson, Az) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hits Rarities & Remixes (Audio CD)
This cd should only be for diehard tribe fans for the few unreleased tracks and remixes.Any fan who has never gotten into ATQ should pick up anthology, as it features more of their better songs. Its sort of a teaser tho, because Peoples instinctive travels, low end theory, and midnight marauders are all perfect albums. If you have the money buy all three of those. Even anthology doesnt have enuff room to cover all of their songs. They would need atleast 3 discs to cover the greatness ATQ has made. Those 3 albums are simply the some of the best hip hop albums ever made. Instead of forkin out 15 bucks for a greatest hits album, look for their first 3 at reasonable prices, because one tribe cd would just be cheating yourself

A nice addition for diehards.,

If you're a HUGE Tribe fan, you'll probably want to pick this CD up just for the unreleased tracks. For those who are looking mainly for the "Hits" rather than the remixes and rarities, try "Anthology" or any of their first three albums.Although the CD collects a number of excellent, funky, jazz-flavored hip-hop tracks ("Award Tour" "Can I Kick It?" "Scenario"), there aren't enough BIG hits for the casual listener here. The remixes included (only two tracks-"Oh My God" and "Lyrics To Go") aren't anything worth rushing out to buy. And for the diehards, the unreleased tracks (again, only two-"Mr. Incognito" and "The Night He Got Caught") were probably unreleased for a reason: they aren't that good. The remaining tracks are simply songs collected from soundtrack contributions by the group--and they aren't that stellar either. Don't get me wrong, Tribe is one of my favorite groups of all time. But in this case, spend your money on "People's Instinctive Travels," "Anthology," or "The Low End Theory" before buying this one.
