Very Fun Album, January 23, 2008
This review is from: Hits: The Road (Audio CD)
This is a good sampler of various hits by Apologetix.
For those who are unfamiliar with them, this group parodies songs in popular music from various genres and does it with Christian lyrics. The songs generally have Scriptural references for the listener to review. Oftentimes they sound very much like the original songs except for the words. The lead singer has an uncanny ability to sound like an incredibly diverse range of artists. Many of their songs even mention specific Scriptures.
This CD ranges from country to rap to heavy metal. Some of the artists parodied on this album include Elvis Presley, Rush, Toby Keith, Maroon 5, Metallica, and Eminem. I didn't think that it was possible for me to enjoy a remake of an Eminem song, but the one on this album did it.
Some of my favorites on this CD include renovations of the following: 'Another Brick In The Wall' by Pink Floyd, 'Devil Went Down To Georgia' by The Charlie Daniels Band, 'Live and Let Die' by Paul McCartney and Wings, 'China Grove' by The Doobie Brothers, 'Yesterday' and 'A Hard Day's Night' by The Beatles, and 'Smoke On The Water' by Deep Purple.
If you haven't ever heard this group before, this CD would be a very good introduction.

christian music with a twist, June 12, 2007
This review is from: Hits: The Road (Audio CD)
this is the best music to play for your non-christian and christian friends. it puts sunday morning lyrics to rock and roll favorites and is a great tool for reaching the lost w/out comming across as a pushy jesus freak. though there's nothing wrong w/ being a jesus freak.
