The Outlaws - 'Hittin' The Road' (Shrapnel),
By
This review is from: Hittin the Road (Audio CD)
I realize that good southern rock has never really died out,but I haven't heard too much about the Outlaws in some time now.Happen to come across this live CD,so I thought I'd check it out.Good sound quality,I noticed. Many of you are probably already familiar with most of the ten tracks played here, like "There Goes Another Love Song","Superficial Love","Ghost Riders In The Sky","Evil,Wicked,Mean&Nasty" and their signature tune "Green Grass And High Tide"(has it REALLY been thirty years since this song first came out?)Still love hearing those most recogized played guitar licks, you know...later in the song.Line-up:Hugh Thomasson and Henry Paul-guitar&vocals,Frank O'Keefe-bass,Billy Jones-guitar and Monte Yoho-drums.Obviously,this CD should appeal to fans of Blackfoot,Molly Hatchet,Marshall Tucker Band and .38 Special.Southern rock fans, rejoice!

outlaws are THE best southern rock band ever. i agree with music fan from dc, the outlaws best work was on playin to win , eye of the storm and ghost riders without henry paul , tho i dig early outlaws also. dont forget harvey dalton arnold contributed a wealth of style as well.southern rock on!

Top Quality Rock Guitar,

This review is from: Hittin the Road (Audio CD)
Henry Paul may have had his moments but the outlaws shined on long after he came and left. They were Florida's guitar army with and without Henry Paul. Their best music came after he left. This is a prime example of it too.
