Perfect for a Hitty doll lover,

This is really not a book but a documentary of the 6 1/4" wooden doll we know through the book about her, "Hitty: Her First Hundred Years," written by Rachel Field and illustrated by Dorothy Lathrop. The book won the Newbery Award for children's books in 1930, the year after the original was published. The timeless book is now in paperback and is published both here in the U.S. as well as in many foreign countries. There are online groups devoted to the doll and her book. This video shows how the book has expanded into a culture of people who now carve wooden replicas of Hitty. It profiles some of them, shows the "real" Hitty, who now lives in the library museum in Stockbridge, MA, and is generally entertaining as well as informative. It's highly recommended viewing for all Hitty doll lovers who can never get enough of her.
