This is a compilationalbum, released to a reduced price and compiled from Gessles first couple of soloalbums, "Per Gessle" and "Scener". Both these albums got good reviews in Sweden and they were clearly a step in a different direction from the Gessle we knew back then, firmly fixed as a popicon with Gyllene Tider. You'll find some Gyllene tider-soundalikes here, but mainly a calm and retrospective Gessle with clear links to one of his idols fron the 70ies, John Holm from Sweden. He even did a version of his "Den öde stranden" on his first soloalbum. It's obvious that Gessle wanted to explore some different territories as a songwriter - to find a more mature way of singing and arranging songs. He probably also wanted to put some distance between himself and Gyllene Tider, bringing in some other musicians as well. The production is classic EMI-1980ies by Kjell Andersson and Lasse Lindbom, overall a nice choice of songs even if the original albums give a much better view into the songs depth and perspective, for instance the order of songs and where they fit in. Maybe a bit soulless edited and quickly put together, but still a good example of Gessle's capacity.

Per Gessle has been one of my favourite artist in many years, from the beginning in the group Gyllene Tider, and for his 2 first solo albums: "Per Gessle" and "Scener" from early 80' s. This album contents many of the songs from the two mentioned albums, som therefore I recommend this album with all my heart. Per Gessles lyrics gets right into my heart and head when he writes about feelings and dreams of love which are important in life.

I've always been a big fan of swedish music, so I bought this cd and I found it's better than I thought. Many of the songs are also sung my Marie Frediksson, so it's like listening to early Roxette. This is cd is full of great songs!!!

Great collection! Could have a couple more songs from his album "Demos", but is fine by me!
