Customer Reviews

Great fit, looks great.
RUBEN
Opens and closes easily, and the locking switch works great as well. (note: if you use the anti-fog attachment, there are no pin locks for it.)
Patrick
I love having the dark smoke shield for riding on sunny days.

I bought this shield for my HJC CS-R1 for thats stealthly look and to not have to wear sunglasses in my helmet and it works great. Its perfectly what I was looking for because I never need to carry my sunglasses around and I never need to swap back to my clear shield, as visibility out of the helmet is still really good at night even with the dark tint. Its not like riding with sun glasses, where its really hard to see. Most of the time during the day and all the time at night visibility into the helmet is real low, so if you're going for that stealthy, mysterious look, this is a real plus.

My only bad encounter with this shield was about a week after i got it, it would get more and more stuck as I would try to open it from the fully closed position. It was not any problem with the shield, just normal accumilation of dirt and such and it was easily fixed with some silicone lubricant.

I bought this shield a couple of months ago and I love it. I have a black helment and the shield I was using was clear with a static cling tint applied to the outside of it. It looked cool with the black helment and black shield but...... my view wasn't clear, the tint had rippels in it that you could not see from the outside but I could see from the inside looking out. Once I receive my new dark smoke shield the difference was like night and day! So much clearer. It looks cool because the shield looks black and my helment is black so it has that blackout look but it is not as dark looking out as it is looking in. Its like tint on your car, you can't see in but you can see out. I can even wear it at dusk and I could not do that with my old tinted one. very happy with this product and now I'm considering buying a mirrored one next.

Almost 2 years ago, I replaced the clear poly shield that came with my HJC helmet with this one.
-The picture is not really representative of the appearance: mine had no gradient and has a mirror-like silver coating (which is what I wanted)
-The coating has held up even today, does a great job of shielding the eyes, and offers a little privacy. You shouldn't use this type of visor at night, but if you're stuck with it, it's like looking through 30 or 40% automotive window tint which is not too bad.
-The fitment isn't perfect. The visor clunks into each "position" and doesn't want to close the last 1 cm, I have to push it down firmly to make sure it seals against the rubber
-As mentioned above, the optics aren't perfect, but mine really has no problems in terms of artifacts and visual irregularities.

This fits perfectly on my Cl-SP. I love having the dark smoke shield for riding on sunny days. The shield is dark enough to block out sun but not too dark to be a safety concern. No more fussing with sunglasses. I definitely reccommend this product.

Great shield, fit the HJC CL-16 perfectly and looks great with the "matte black" finish on helmets. Shield is super dark from the outside but provides great visibility looking out, even in low lighting. Opens and closes easily, and the locking switch works great as well. (note: if you use the anti-fog attachment, there are no pin locks for it.)

I bought my first bike and my first helmet. I knew i would be riding with sun in my eyes so i purchased the Dark Smoke shield for my HJC helmet. It installed fast and is very affective. Night riding isnt that much different. I am still able to see normally.

Bought for a HJC CS-R2. Easy to put into place and havent had a single issue. Bought the Dark Smoke one and now can look in the direction of the sun without issue.

Dark Smoke might as well mean blacked out, because that's what it looks like from the outside. It fits on the helmet like the stock visor, and looks great!
