5.0 out of 5 stars DOES WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL
Received this as a gift and was skeptical as to how it would work. Have some real back problems. Unloaded the box, simple instructions which by the way say not to use it in bed. Work great for both my wife and I.
I will buy another one now to use in the car when we travel. Worth the small investment.

I had purchased several larger full matt size ten motor HoMedic massagers in the past and they were fine for a short while, however after several months their vibrator motors gave out one by one. I see that particular model is no longer available through Amazon. Even though that previous larger model is no longer available, most likely because of the above mentioned reliablity issues, it was so much better than this one in every way. This unit is a piece of junk right out of the box. The vibration is very weak and two of the motors make such a loud buzzing sound that you can hardly hear the TV over the racket. Also the hard vibrators are very uncomfortable on your back.

2.0 out of 5 stars ...., January 31, 2005
This review is from: HoMedics BK-7000 Contact Comfort 10, 10-Point True Contact Back Massager, Black Faux Suede (Health and Beauty)
there are a few bad points to this massager: its pretty loud, sounds like someone is playing really loud bass right outside your window....the motors are in the perfect spot to press directly on your spine, they should have put them off to the side a little....the straps dont reach around a recliner, i guess you're supposed to sit at a dining room chair to use it(havent tried it in the car yet)....the heat doesnt get very hot.....besides all those points its good.

I have been to many massage therapists, acupuncturists, and physicians about my back and neck pain, so when my boyfriend saw this mat he thought it would be an ideal Christmas present. All the mat does is vibrate and does not actually kneed or massage. All the vibration caused my muscles to tense and I had a severe headache within seconds. Another problem is that the different knobs on the mat make it extrememly uncomfortable. Its like sleeping on rocks. My boyfriend returned it because he couldnt use it either. I have heard some good things about massage chairs but this mat is a crock. We are saving up for a massage chair that is a lot more comfortable.

purchased this for my son for Christmas. I am returning it. It does not massage at all, all it does is vibrate. My son said all the vibrating made him sick.A waste of time and money.

1.0 out of 5 stars BOO!!, February 28, 2006
This review is from: HoMedics BK-7000 Contact Comfort 10, 10-Point True Contact Back Massager, Black Faux Suede (Health and Beauty)
I got this for my wife. Very disappointed, just vibrates it is not a massager. She also complains that it makes her sick to her stomache, and she gets a headache if she uses it for more then 5 minutes at a time.

2.0 out of 5 stars not worth the money, February 18, 2005
This review is from: HoMedics BK-7000 Contact Comfort 10, 10-Point True Contact Back Massager, Black Faux Suede (Health and Beauty)
This product is just like any other chair massager. NOTHING SPECIAL about it. It does the same sh.. as any other competitor. I would not even pay $40 for this item. HoMedics is not all that. I ordered this item because of the promotional certificate.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Vibrates alright , and more !!!, October 5, 2006
This review is from: HoMedics BK-7000 Contact Comfort 10, 10-Point True Contact Back Massager, Black Faux Suede (Health and Beauty)
This is a vibrator all right and a massaging cushion in one. I have had others and feel this is one of the best. I can imagine the women, ( other reviews ) having headaches if they are putting it on high, but it comes with three levels. I like the fact that it can be vibrating in certain areas ( i.e.: Lumbar Spine ). I also feel the price is a bargain. I am a Disabled Veteran and have not always had the luxury of items such as this. " NO COMPLAINTS HERE!"

The item is more a vibrator than a massager. The heat is not adjustable and is less than satisfactory (too low).

I use it just because my husband feels better when I do.

I would not buy it again, given the opportunity.

I have had this for about a year and already one of the cords has had to be replaced/rewired because the control came off. The cords are also short so you can't move more than a couple of feet away from the plug-in.
