Product Description

Amazon.com

A fabulous pampering gift for self or others, this home spa kit deep-cleans skin through the process of microdermabrasion. By gently exfoliating dull skin cells using special attachments and creams, skin is left rejuvenated and ultra smooth. Seven attachments come with the rechargeable tool, which features two speeds, a tapered, non-slip grip, and a water chamber that at the push of a button sprays a fine mist. Begin your facial by attaching the cleansing brush (which sensitive skin may find a bit too harsh) and lathering in the clear, unscented facial cleanser. Rinse. Next, try one of the two suction cup attachments that pull impurities out of large pores. Attach one of the three microdermabrasion sponges and use it to massage in the slightly gritty, grapefruit-scented microdermabrasion cream. After rinsing your squeaky clean, newly smoothed skin, apply a splash of toner and work in the luscious, unscented moisturizer. Now, just add a final neck and face massage with the roller attachment, a fine mist spray to close pores, and you’ll feel like you just spent all day at the spa, without spending the bucks. A charging stand, hard plastic storage case for the attachments, and drawstring travel bag are included, along with a two-year warranty.--Ann Bieri

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good - here is what I liked and disliked, February 8, 2004

This review is from: HoMedics FAC200 Facial Spa Ultra Microdermabrasion & Cleaning System (Health and Beauty)
First of all, I have had microdermabrasion treatments in the past by professional aesthetician and loved the results. However, i bought this product because I didn't want to shell out $150 a treatment and I just didnt have the time or the inclination to lie on an aesthetician's bed for over an hour at a time.

I tried this product for the first time today and my skin looks the way it normally does after a professional treatment: Kind of a shiny glow, a little pinkness and a bit of tightness as well. Unfortunately, for me, even with the professional treatment I didnt see the wonderful results until after a few days after the treatment. My guess is that that's when the upper skin cells are gone and the fresher skin beneath has a chance to surface - don't ask me why!

What I liked about this kit is that the "tool" actually rotates and not just vibrates when on. I feel that when it rotates, it's actually cleaning (when using the brush attachment) and peeling when using the sponge attachment for the actual dermabrasion.

What I disliked is that it takes too long to charge in the cradle. And I guess I used it too long because by the time I was doing the after dermabrasion massage, the unit ran out of charge and I had to finish by hand. Also, the sponge attachment "chipped" off during the treatment. When I opened my eyes after I finished the dermabrasion, there were little flakes of sponge all over the floor! They should have added more sponge attachments because the kit came with 3 but I don't think I can use each more than twice. Lastly, when I bought this unit at Macy's, I didn't see any refill creams or attachments so I think getting ahold of them is going to harder than buying the kit.

All in all, a bargain for the price of $29.99 and I felt I got more than my money's worth for a fraction of a single treatment.
I would recommend this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad, bad quality, June 3, 2004

I had originally given this product a five star review as it had worked beautifully when received and I had used it for weeks without a problem. Well after about 2 months use it would no longer charge, and therefore, became totally useless. Homedics continues to produce alot of junk appliances and I will no longer purchase anything with their name on it. Folks, please save you money and skip this gadget and all others made by Homedics.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixed Results, August 6, 2004
This review is from: HoMedics FAC200 Facial Spa Ultra Microdermabrasion & Cleaning System (Health and Beauty)
I just got my kit in the mail, so I've only used it once so far.

The brush attachment is great -- I didn't find it too rough, and it felt like it was really working to clean my skin.

The suction attachments didn't do anything at all (other than leaving blotchy pink marks on my skin). Disappointing.

The microdermabrasion cream and sponge attachment FELT like it was working...but my skin still doesn't feel particularly smooth (it WAS bad to begin with, though, in the kit's defense).

The massager works the way it's supposed to.

The mist feature on mine doesn't work AT ALL. I'd consider exchanging it, but from what I've read, several people have had problems with that particular feature, so I doubt that a new one would be any better.

If you're buying it for the microdermabrasion and massage, then go for it. It's a pretty cool little kit. Just don't expect all of the features to work well, or you'll be disappointed
