Very good - here is what I liked and disliked,

First of all, I have had microdermabrasion treatments in the past by professional aesthetician and loved the results. However, i bought this product because I didn't want to shell out $150 a treatment and I just didnt have the time or the inclination to lie on an aesthetician's bed for over an hour at a time. I tried this product for the first time today and my skin looks the way it normally does after a professional treatment: Kind of a shiny glow, a little pinkness and a bit of tightness as well. Unfortunately, for me, even with the professional treatment I didnt see the wonderful results until after a few days after the treatment. My guess is that that's when the upper skin cells are gone and the fresher skin beneath has a chance to surface - don't ask me why! What I liked about this kit is that the "tool" actually rotates and not just vibrates when on. I feel that when it rotates, it's actually cleaning (when using the brush attachment) and peeling when using the sponge attachment for the actual dermabrasion. What I disliked is that it takes too long to charge in the cradle. And I guess I used it too long because by the time I was doing the after dermabrasion massage, the unit ran out of charge and I had to finish by hand. Also, the sponge attachment "chipped" off during the treatment. When I opened my eyes after I finished the dermabrasion, there were little flakes of sponge all over the floor! They should have added more sponge attachments because the kit came with 3 but I don't think I can use each more than twice. Lastly, when I bought this unit at Macy's, I didn't see any refill creams or attachments so I think getting ahold of them is going to harder than buying the kit. All in all, a bargain for the price of $29.99 and I felt I got more than my money's worth for a fraction of a single treatment.

Bad, bad quality,

I had originally given this product a five star review as it had worked beautifully when received and I had used it for weeks without a problem. Well after about 2 months use it would no longer charge, and therefore, became totally useless. Homedics continues to produce alot of junk appliances and I will no longer purchase anything with their name on it. Folks, please save you money and skip this gadget and all others made by Homedics.

I just got my kit in the mail, so I've only used it once so far.The brush attachment is great -- I didn't find it too rough, and it felt like it was really working to clean my skin. The suction attachments didn't do anything at all (other than leaving blotchy pink marks on my skin). Disappointing. The microdermabrasion cream and sponge attachment FELT like it was working...but my skin still doesn't feel particularly smooth (it WAS bad to begin with, though, in the kit's defense). The massager works the way it's supposed to. The mist feature on mine doesn't work AT ALL. I'd consider exchanging it, but from what I've read, several people have had problems with that particular feature, so I doubt that a new one would be any better. If you're buying it for the microdermabrasion and massage, then go for it. It's a pretty cool little kit. Just don't expect all of the features to work well, or you'll be disappointed

Professional facial for a fraction of the price,

I bought this kit just a month ago and have used it numerous times. I am used to a monthly facial but due to the recent financial crisis in my household, I am no longer able to afford the luxury of a facialist! But all is not lost since I found out about this wonderful kit that simply amazed me!I actually found out about this product by accident. I was watching late night TV when Susan Lucci's Youthful Essence was airring. Right after watching the program, I began searching the internet to learn more. However, I was dissapointed reading so many bad reviews given to it. That is when I chance upon Homedics FAC-200 Facial Spa Kit for Cleaning & Microdermabrasion and learned so many wonderful reviews given to this product. I did more research and knew instantly that I had to give it a try. For less than $30.00, you are actually getting a great bargain. I love the fact the the tool is so powerful! When I first started using the brush attachment to clean my face, I did feel a little uncomfortable at the speed it's going. I am so used to having smooth hands pampering my face that the fast rotating brush did gave me a shock. However, after a few usage, I dare tell you that you will never settle for anything less powerful than this! The suction did little to help clean out impurities and that's the only reason why I am rating this 4 stars instead of 5. I tried cleaning out those bugging blackheads from my nose but no matter how hard I tried to suck em out, it just won't go away. You're better off using those Pore Strips which certainly do a better job that the two suction cups that comes with it. The sponge...yes..the microdermabrasion sponge and its graprefruit scented cystals cream is heaven scent (sent!!). It did such a great job at sloughing away dead skin layers that you will instantly feel your face glow!! You get three sponges and you may re-order more for only $12.50 and that also includes the wonderfully grapefruit scented crystals. I did not use the toner and moisturizer that came with it. You may substitute the cleansing gel, toner and moisturizer with your own skincare product and still find the result fascinating. And at the end, after toning and moisturizing, don't forget to use the massage rollers for your face and next. You will feel like you've been pampered rotten by it. And as for the mist feature, it's a plus but don't count on it for closing your pores. It's the least powerful feature besides the suction cups. After a month of at home DIY facial, I'd never splurge on $50 facial, even when lady luck come my way again. IMHO, this product is highly recommended for those with normal to oily skin. If you have dry or sensitive skin, you might find it too harsh. I am also trying to find out if this product will help rid some of the hyperpigmentations I've unfortunately inherited from my mother. The outlook is very promising and you should definitely give it a try! For a fraction of a price you would've spent on a professional beautician, you will still get the same result. Beautiful, healthy clear skin and more money for shoes!

Disappointed...,

I'd read good reviews for this item so I got my hopes up. The suction feature doesn't actually remove anything from your pores. It does have quite a bit of suction, so it can irritate your skin, but you can see from the design that even if it did actually remove anything there is no place for the "stuff" to go, and no instructions on cleaning "stuff" from any part of the unit. The brush definitely scrubbed, but it was coarse enough that I feared that it could be scratching my skin, leaving it vulnerable to more bacteria. The dermabrasion cream was useless with the pads since the abrasive material seems to sink into the sponges and therefore seems to have little effect on my skin.I did like using the dermabrasion cream applying it with my fingers. I'm almost out, though, and I haven't been able to locate a refill for this item...

I am currently attending school, for Licensed Esthetician. I have used the FAC-200 in my portable kit with fantastic results. The rotary brush is as good as any stationary brush machine costing hundreds of dollars more. The mister functions perfectly, I add toner to the compartment. The sponge heads are good, but they will wear out (hence derm-abrasion).The enclosed products are very good, and the grapefruit product is superior. I purchased two sets for mobile use and having a charged backup. I have showed this kit to every student in my class, and they all love this machine. The pore suction kit is actually useful for reducing wrinkles and lines by causing a migration of tissue fluid into the questionable area. Suction is not intended to removes whiteheads and blackheads, this is a job for manual extraction. Overall I am highly pleased with this product and I will always purchase these as gifts to my clients for daily use, in between visits.

I've had mine for about 7 months now. I love using the brush tool to deep clean my face, but that's about it. The microdermabrasion tool is okay, but I believe the brush has already done the work by the time you get to this tool. None of the other items were of any benefit and the mister didn't operate at all. The consumables were all acceptable but I prefer using other products. All in all, it takes up very little space on my vanity, I still use the cleaner about twice a week and I can tell the difference when I don't use it. I'd like it better if it was just the brush tool and cost under $20.00.

I recieved my kit on time (which is a nice bonus), I charged it overnight, in the morning when I used it I wasn't sure what to look for but it did feel real good and I was very happy with the end results, so happy that I then used it on my 16 year old son who has a acne problem the end result with him was clearer cleaner skin so all in all, I felt this was more then worth it.

Bought this product from Amazon.com. Arrived within the specified time. Its really easy and handy to use and results are really good. The mist feature does not work as well and I didnt find the suction features very useful. But I have used it only couple of time (5-6) and my skin is not too bad to start with. Overalll I would recommed the product. The Brush feature is very good and can be used on frequent basis for a better facial clean.

1. I FOUND THE CLEANSING BRUSH TO BE QUITE USEFUL AND EFFECTIVE.2. STEP 2 IS THE SUCTION CUP......DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! 3. STEP 3 IS THE MICRODERMABRASION SPONGE......I LIKE IT....FEELS LIKE IT IS REALLY CLEANING WITH THE SANDY GRAINS. 4. STEP 4...RINSE PAT DRY...USE TONER...FELT REFRESHING BUT NOT ENOUGH TO WHERE I WOULD BUY REFILLS 5. STEP5 MIST SPRAY..NOT AT ALL COOL ENOUGH TO CLOSE YOUR PORES I EVEN TRIED IT WITH COLD WATER TO MAKE IT COLDER.....I EVENTUALLY JUST RAN A CUBE OF ICE OVER MY FACE WHICH FELT REALLY GOOD AND CLOSED MY PORES QUICKLY. 6. STEP 6..FACIAL CREAM WITH MASSAGE ROLLER....NOT BAD...I LIKE THE ROLLER MASSAGING THE CREAM IN MY FACE...WILL USE MY OWN CREAM THOUGH SINCE I NEED AN "ANTI WRINKLE" CREAM THAT FEELS MUCH BETTER THAN THIS CREAM. OVER ALL THOUGH MY FACE FELT CLEAN AND ENVIGORATING WITH THE BRUSH AND THE GRAPEFRUIT SCRUB.....WISH THEY WOULD DROP THE 2 SUCTION CUPS AND MIST AND CUT THE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT! i would still recommend this product because you can do marvels using it then using your own facial cream at the end to give that soft suptle feel..........excellent at exfoliating which is what i need the most!!!!!!! |
