Greetings, this is my off-the-cuff review of the Mood Wave 100 colormotion light. I recieved this item for christmas and initially thought it was pretty cool....mine has three different light patterns, they are called DAYDREAM, DOZE, and LOUNGE. The four musical choices are called DRIFT, UNWIND, CHILL, and RELAX. The light unit itself is designed to lay on it's side or be stood up on end by means of a small plastic leg which is inserted into the back of the unit. You must use it on an absolutely flat, stable surface, as I discovered it tips over very easily no matter which way it is displayed! Be careful with it around children and/or pets which may cause it to fall over and possibly break.
The musical selections were nice, and pleasant to listen to, but the volume adjustment does not turn down far enough which makes it a teeny bit loud for my preference....and, please take note of this next point....IF you have pet birds, the music on this thing may cause them to fight. I have four birds (parakeets) in the room where this thing was being used, and no sooner did the music start, all four of them went nuts and started sqawking hysterically, and then proceeded to start knocking eachother off their perches. It reminded me of the scene in the movie "Strange Brew" where they played the organ to make the hockey playing robots start fighting...I tried to turn it down as far as the volume would go but that didn't help either. SO....be warned, bird owners, your birds may react the same way!
One last point, is that if you should happen to leave the unit on for longer than about 15 minutes at a time, the plastic on the back of the unit where the wire plugs in for the adaptor becomes very warm! Like, warm enough for me to warn you not to fall asleep with it left on warm, if you catch my drift!
I felt that the design of the lights was very beautiful and relaxing and I hate to write a bad review about anything, but I feel that this item has some serious design flaws that need to be corrected before it can be considered a 5-star choice.
1. Make it more stable and less apt to be tipped over.
2. Make the volume control to be turned down to a much lower level.
3. Correct whatever electrical glitch causes it to overheat and the plastic to be unsafely hot to the touch.
If you are planning on buying one of these Mood Wave lights, these are the problems you might encounter, but everyone is different in what they will accept as far as product performance. I rated it 3 stars because the lights are so pretty, but I would not recommend it for everyday use.

This is a very relaxing and hypnotic item. Curved light-show box with bars of light which change color in varying patterns. Very impressive, I bought 2 of these for Christmas presents and also bought one for myself. Everyone who has seen it loves it! THE GREATEST INVENTION SINCE THE LAVA LAMP. And you don't have wait an hour for it to warm up! For those of you who find items similar to this "tacky", you may not feel the same way about the LT-100: it is elegant, in my opinion.

i have this thing next to my computer and i love it. So chilling and relaxing. the music sounds kinda lame from the speaker but its still nice to hear......its an adult toy that you would find ideally in a babies crib. By this I mean:
this past Xmas I went to visit my family. both of brothers have children and i do not. I often wound up in one of the kids rooms to decompress from the madness. As i napped on their beds, one of the kids had this soothing fish tank toy that had actual water and bubbles and very sweet soothing music. I loved it but it was not really for an adult man to have in his own home. This is the equivalent! If this makes any sense to you, than buy one.
