HoMedics PAQ-30H Therapist Select Quad-Action Percussion Massager
As a massage therapist I have come to know I sometimes need help reaching a deep tissue/muscle without the threat of bruising my client. In my studio I have a heavy-duty virbratory system. I use this product on outcalls and am just as happy as with my heavy-duty professional system in my studio. I especially am thrilled with how quiet it is for the amount of vibration it provides. Clients who have experienced both do not know the difference.

We have owned a couple of different brands. This brand is two times more powerful and so we find it much more effective in getting to deep muscle soreness. The heated element also adds to the effectiveness of the unit. We think it is one of the best!

(PREFACE: It's not *all* bad, people - There are some good uses, and I have mentioned them at the bottom)....

Looks great on the drawing board, folks, but I have to tell you -- this unit is not what you are looking for. If you are used to the two-head version, do not expect to get double the massage; in fact, all four heads moving at once are actually WEAKER and don't give nearly the good, deep massage of the two-head version, which is much more powerful and satisfying. The heat is just a joke, don't even bother with it. Also, it's quite cumbersome. There is simply no value here, with one exception ....

The unit comes with three sets of heads. There are two harder sets, similar to the two-headed version. But a saving grace to this otherwise disapointment is the gel-pack heads. They are soft and so, coupled with the motor's weakness, these heads are almost perfect for knee, ankle or scalp massages. They are especially delicate and probably nice for strained joints, headaches and the like. I actually don't need that, but I can imagine that some of you in need of that sort of thing will appreciate the softer side to the unit.

In any case, I am keeping mine for future use on injured ankles or knees. Otherwise, for a tissue masssage (back or calves, etc.) this thing is a total dud. Stick with the two-heades newer units by Homedics. Those babies are po-TENT!

WOW!!!! LOVE THIS MACHINE .. FEELS SO GOOD, ON A RESTLESS BODY AFTER WORKING ALL DAY. THE HEAT FEELS WONDERFUL!. WE HAVE THE TWO HEAD ONE TOO! BUT THIS ONE IS MUCH BETTER BECAUSE YOU GET TWO MORE HEADS, FOR MASSAGE . AND OH! THE INFRO. HEAT PENASTRATES DEEP IN THE MUSCLES. WE LOVE IT ME AND MY HUSBAND . HE HAS A BAD BACK WITH RUPTHURED DISCS. IT IS GREAT . ITS HEAVY , SO IT WILL BE MASSAGING WITH WEIGHT . WE CALL IT OUR ET MACHINE. WORTH THE MONEY TO US .

Bought the massager - overall OK but it is heavy to use with one hand, after sometime it gets to you. It has a good vibration capability better than the others i had. Could have a better handle and a longer cord. How about making them 110 - 240V then i can travel with it.

I had already used the HoMedics PA100 model and loved it, so I thought that this model would be just a good, except with four heads instead of two. I was wrong, I used them both one right after the other, and the PAQ-30H does not even come close to the intensity of vibration that the PA100 does. I agree with the fellow above on the "Heat lights", offers nothing but a visual effect, the heat is non-existant - a joke of a feature. Im returning this unit today - it was nothing more than a waste of my time. If you bought this unit first, and havent tried the PA100, you have no idea what your missing.

If there are two people involved in giving and getting a massage with this unit, it might work fine, however, for one person alone, it is much too heavy and awkward to manipulate. It is very large also for one person to handle, you almost need two hands to use it. I was very disappointed as other HoMedics products have been very useful. Actually, I returned the unit.

THE NEW ONES, HAVE HALF THE POWER AND WERE A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT.
WE SENT IT BACK FOR A REFUND AFTER 2 DAYS.
WE ORDER THE THUMPER FROM AMAZON AND IT IS TRULY A POWERFUL
MASSAGER, QUIETER, AND BUILT TO LAST.

I love the powerful massage. However, I take a star away because of how heavy the thing is. It is big and tiring to hold up! I find it best for back massages while I'm sitting on the couch or a chair, so I can let go of it or loosen my grip while I lean against it. It is really a powerful product, and it does wonders for my back - and all over. It feels great when my boyfriend uses it on me, and he loves it as well. In the future, however, I might consider buying the model which has only two knobs instead of four, in the hopes of lighter handling. The heat feature is nice on this one, though. All in all, if you want power and don't mind the weight, you will be very pleased with this product.

3/11/2011 ADD: This thing still works like it did when it was brand new. Amazing!

After reading other reviews about the weight of the item, I had second thoughts about making the purchase. Those that had returned and stated that the unit was too heavy and large, must have never had the smaller two head unit. It weighs more than the four head unit. The four head unit is lighter, quieter, and smoother operating than the old two head units.
