5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent fountain!
I used to have the Homedics Rock Garden foutain but I didn't like that too much because water would get everywhere. With this Garden Leaves Foutain, there is no splash at all. It uses the same pump as the Rock Garden foutain and it's not really super noisy. The rocks that were provided were like rock bits though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very poor quality--won't last for more than two weeks!!!
Oh man... The idea was really great to create such a fountain with this nice design of garden leaves and lighting but if only it could work for a little longer!! The bulbs were dead by the end of the second week, and the pipes through which the water runs become stained and there is no way to clean them. Finally, the inner surface of the boat gets really tough stain with...

5.0 out of 5 stars Copper colored, attractive and makes a nice sound!, January 29, 2007
This review is from: HoMedics WFL-GDN Envirascape Garden Leaves Illuminated Fountain, Copper (Health and Beauty)
This is actually a beautiful fountain that looks much better than the picture on Amazon. Although it is made of plastic, it looks quite good and much better than the artificial grey slate type fountains.

As other reviewers mention, the pump really is quiet and there is a nice flow of water that is soothing when the room is quiet. I have wind chimes outside and the two together are very soothing.

This fountain lights up with lovely yellow illumination. In a dark room it is quite attractive and fits into even a very upscale decor. The cost of them item is low and overall I think my 5 rating is well-deserved.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice fountain, but not as advertised, January 3, 2007

The fountain isn't copper at all. It's brown plastic. It only looks slightly copper-like when the lights are off in the room and the lights on the fountain and the water make the leaves look a tad coppery. If you're looking for a real copper fountain, this ain't it!

Other than that, it's a nice fountain. For being small, it even has quite a bit of water noise. The pump is quiet, but the water flow is good. There are two speeds on the pump for the water flow. There's a lot of places where the water flows from one height to another - which my cat loves.

It could use some additional rocks, though.

The bulbs were dead by the end of the second week, and the pipes through which the water runs become stained and there is no way to clean them. Finally, the inner surface of the boat gets really tough stain with time and I used endless amount of cleaners to get rid of that stain--no way!!! The water needs to be changed very often, otherwise, it will get sticky and the engine will work slowly... Wheh... Too much work for a little pleasure. Would not recommend this product.

I'm giving it 4 stars because, though not perfect, it does a good job for the money. By re-arranging the rocks
you can vary the amount of splashy sounds. The downside is that because of the ark-shaped bottom there will
be a corresponding amount of outside splashing. So you'll want to use a tray and/or absorbent mat. Also, there
is a slight motor hum but the sounds of the water pretty much override it. Ultimately, it does help me to relax.

For $30, you can buy yourself a better fountain. This one was a big disappointment for me. It does look like the one on the picture but it doesn't give you that shiny glare since the whole unit is made of plastic. The rocks included are small, about the size of a penny or a quarter if you get lucky. If you don't care about the plastic, then the fountain might be for you. But that plastic look really bother me and it felt as it was cheaply made. They could've at least spray painted it gold or copper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet lighting, decent water sounds, March 28, 2007

Its a very nice little fountain. The lighting on the ceiling is really cool and the water noises are adjustable depending on how you arrange the rocks. It doesn't have near enough rocks, so I'm going to go and get some, but I think once I fill it up a little more it'll look a lot better too. I'm satisfied, I actually bought another one :)

3.0 out of 5 stars "Copper" is not the Same as "Copper Colored", August 8, 2008

Before purchasing it, it was not clear to me that this fountain is not copper but brown plastic. Given that copper generally oxidizes in air, plastic is fine with me. However, it is not clear from the description that the fountain is not constructed of copper. You have to learn that by reading the reviews (and I didn't until after I opened the box).

Overall, this little fountain works well. We live in Texas where it's often hot and dry, so we like to have a fountain to add humidity to the indoor air. This fountain does just that, and the running water makes a soothing sound that is enjoyable.

However, that cute little light near the top is very, very bright, and it cannot be shut off. I find it annoying, although it does bring out the copper color of the plastic construction.

I will buy more rocks to go in this fountain. The small number of rocks included in the package is nowhere near enough to cover the bottom of the fountain.

All in all, a good, but hardly great, indoor fountain.

Three stars!

This is a really nice little fountain. I had it on my wish list and received it as a gift, and I was concerned because it seemed larger than I originally thought. But when assembled, it stands only about 10" tall, which is perfect for my desk at work. The sound of the trickling water is quiet enough that it isn't discernable by my co-workers and it is a very attractive addition to my cube. Only problem, it doesn't come with enough rocks to cover the base, but rocks are easy to come by. And, although it isn't copper, the color is such that you can't really tell from 3 feet away. I recommend this product.

... unless you are hard at hearing. I bought this because I like the sound of water... but on this one all you hear is the motor of the pump, it overrides any water pleasures.
