EnviraScape Illuminated Rock Garden Relaxation Fountain

Amazon.com

Need to find a Zen moment in an otherwise hectic day? Plug in this soothing tabletop fountain and let the sounds of nature drown out the buzz of a busy office, whining children, or the honking of traffic. The fountain’s attractive design blends into any home or office décor. The plastic platform holds a scattering of polished river rocks, and sends water cascading over the sides to create a naturally pleasant white noise that enhances concentration or brings on relaxation and sleep. The fountain operates via an installed durable electric water pump, and offers several speeds so you can adjust the water flow to fit your mood. A light can also be turned on for evening relaxation sessions for a more dramatic effect. The EnviraScape fountain measures 11 inches wide by 7-1/2 inches high by 11 inches deep and is easy to set up using the included instructions. HoMedics covers this fountain under a 1-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Also, it doesn't make that much waterfall noise either.

After I saw what this company is producing now, I scoured the internet (including eBay) to see if I could find an older one.

front end looks good as pictured. back end shows silver plastic stems. not enough rocks to cover the base. whole thing looks as if it was setup to take the picture. 2 more slates for the back and 2 more bags of rock would've made this product much more pleasing.(and I would definitely paid extra to complete this fountain)
manual says water constantly evaporate so it needs to be refilled. I find base dish not big enough to hold water from sprinkled out of the plate rather than evaporating.
kudoes for including extra light burbs.
note: I took off pump cover that has suction cups. have the pump suspended in the water, dangling only by the tube. Now I don't hear pump vibration that was passing on to the table.
Gotta go look for polished river rocks in the mall now.

I bought this even though the other reviews were poor, and I'm pleasantly surprised. You get two bags of rocks, plenty to cover the base and some of the black slate plates.

It does have a bit of a buzz to it, but if you overfill it a bit and take the time to position the plates and stones, and let the circulator float in the well, the buzz becomes white noise. Again, the issue of water splashing out can be resolved with a bit of time spent positioning the slate plates. It took about 20 minutes of my time, and I have no water splash whatsoever.

I use this in my bedroom in place of a humidifier and it works quite well, especially when it's refilled daily. The tiny light works great as a nightlite, too.

Homedics listened to everyone's issues as well, because the instructions now address these two problems and offer some solutions.

Other units I looked at started at $50 and went up, so for me it's a great little find. Just don't expect a $150 fountain for

twenty bucks....

First off, my fountain is quiet...I have excellent hearing and bought it to help sleep and it does this well. I had no real problems with set-up, despite the fact that I read the instructions only after assembly! There is a bit of splatter after many, many hours of running, but adjusting the pump to about 1/3 between the "-" and "+" setting fixes most of that. My room humidity stays about 45% and at that level you need to add water every two days or so. Mine is visible from over 180 degrees and it looks nice from all sides. I found there were plenty of stones supplied, despite others problems. Oh, and please fellow-shoppers, unless you have bought one or have used one of a friends, it isn't helpful to rate a product based on speculation.

All considered, a fine product!

This was so pretty in the picture but when I got it home it didn't go together like it should have, within 5 minutes the whole desk area was covered in water, I never could get it to line up so the water trickled, instead it just gurshed in one area and all of the water splashed out. Not enough rocks to cover bottom of platter, does make relaxing sound when turned on but too much trouble otherwise. Used it three times then put away. Should have taken it back.

DO NOT BUY THIS FOUNTAIN. It doesn't look anything like it's pictured above. The water splashes everywhere, it makes a ton of noise, there are not enough rocks to cover the base, they fall into the canal where the pump is housed, in order to adjust the flow of the water, you have to take the entire thing apart, It's not worth the money.

I also do not have the pump suctioned to the bowl, and with the pump setting on medium, plus a careful arrangement of rocks, I can create any level of water sound I'm in the mood for, and I have to lean so close to the fountain I'm practically drinking from it before I hear any motor noise.

This fountain does have a not-so-pretty side, so I put it on a bookshelf underneath a window. I guess it might not work as a centerpiece, but 3/4 of it is very pretty to look at, and it came with two good size bags of rocks, plenty if you leave the ugly side alone.

Also, even if you overfill this fountain there's almost no splashing and no leaking out of the bottom either. I have it running all day long at work (up to 10 to 12 hours at a time), and it's very consistent, I only have to add filtered water occasionally. I've gone through MANY fountains, and this is the best one out there, more than worth the price.

I love to have a fountain on my desk at work. It is very peacedul and helps me concentrate. I have been looking for a "natural" fountain and I saw this one. One of the reviews below said something about it being small, so I thought that would be great - it would fit on my desk. A saucer roughly the size of a dinner plate sits on the base - bigger than I though. I found there to be plently of rocks... the slate is fully adjustable so I just turned the pump down, moved the slate around and it works fine. No splashing! And it is quiet! I would have given it 5 stars - but it was too big to go exactly where I wanted it on my desk, so I had to move some things around.

This is a horribly-designed and made product. Steer clear!

It should have been a dead giveway when my husband was (attempting) assembling it and I could barely find the instructions amidst all the disclaimer flyers floating around that had clearly been added to answer the multiple complaints about the item. My husband insisted on taking it back, I insisted on getting it together (It couldn't be that bad, could it?), and now I wish we had returned it.

For one, the construction is totally flimsy. The base is plastic (not readily obvious from photo). The pump and all pieces, except for the rocks and black granite "platforms" are all plastic.

I could live with that, maybe, except most annoying is that nothing "Locks" into place. The pump just kind of floats around (mostly getting in the way of trying to find a level surface for the core cylinder), the clear plastic cylinder core just kind of balances on the base, the black granite piece precariously balance in some slots on the core, and the rocks, if you can even get them to sit on the granite, will fall off with the slightest movement. (We bought this for soothing nighttime sounds, except every time someone walks near the thing a rock falls off, careening the ground and waking up everyone within earshot.)

Eventually all the rocks end up at the bottom of the fountain (they do not stay on the granite for anything and fall in a huge gap into the resevoir), requiring complete disassembly and starting over to retrieve them.

Among some of the disclaimers provided by the manufacturer (I can't honestly remember all the stickers and flyers that tried to convince you this product would work well if you only ...) :

- Refill it daily or the water and pump will be too loud.
