Steel Repair Project Using the Handler 125EZ
Set One Knob – the Welder Does the Rest

Just plug it into 115V household current, select the mild steel thickness and you are ready to weld. The EZ automatically sets itself, eliminating the need to set wire feed speed and voltage separately. The Handler 125EZ enables someone with little or no welding experience to start producing good welds with minimal practice.

Easy to Set-up and Use

Just a few minutes for set-up and you are ready to weld. A weld set-up guide is included on the inside of the cover to set your welder properly.

Great for D-I-Y Welding Projects

Small and portable, the Handler 125 EZ works well for outdoor welding because no shielding gas is required. Use it for welding: lawn furniture, mower decks, small home repairs, trailer frames & hitches, fences.

What’s Included in the Box?

Handler 125EZ with 8 ft. H-9B gun, 10 ft. work cable with clamp, power cord with plug, extra .030 contact tips, sample spool of .030 flux-cored welding wire, spool shaft to accommodate 4 in spools (optional hub kit is available for 8 in spools), and owners manual.

Two weldors in my family encouraged me to get a Miller Auto Set welder because they are so easy to use. Just set the thickness of the metal and the welder does the rest. But, the Miller they suggested is much more welder than I need. The Handler 125 EZ is somewhat similar to that Miller because the user sets one knob for the thickness of the metal and the machine does the rest. This Hobart costs much less than the Miller Auto Set welders. (Miller and Hobart are now the same company.) Most of my welding is on materials approximately 1/8 inch in thickness, so the Handler's 125 amp maximum output at 115 volts and 20 amps AC input is adequate for most of my needs. Reviewers elsewhere on the Internet say the Handler really does weld steel 3/16 inch thick in a single pass, and thicker still with multiple passes. I did weld some 5/8" x 5/8" bar stock end-to-end by grinding a chamfer on each end and making a root weld. Then I built up the "V" openings with repeated alternating passes. I used a home workshop MAPP gas torch to preheat the parent metal and got a very good weld. The 115 volt input will enable me to do jobs anywhere. It weighs only 50 pounds and can easily be carried with one hand. A nice touch is that the spring loaded handle lays down on the case automatically.

Some hooks on the welder's case for coiling up the power cord, ground cable, and gun sheath would make carrying it to a job site much easier. Still, the machine is small enough that it can sit on the lower shelf of my workbench very easily and always be ready for use.

The Handler comes with one pound of .030 flux core wire and three .030 gun tips. The night before it was delivered I watched some short YouTube videos about using a wire feed welder.

I bought this as my first welder because it had positive reviews online...I wanted one to fix the floors on a vintage car. Purists scoff at flux welding but this thing produces great welds to my untrained eyes. Made in the US it came well packed with a detailed manual, spare tips and extra grounding clamp. The metal case is solid with a nice look.

I put two pieces of thick metal on my workbench and pressed the trigger. My first welds were sloppy, but after about 10 minutes I figured it out: Read the manual or watch videos online on how to hold the gun...the angle you hold the tip is the secret as does precise panning across the joint. I also bought one of the autodarkening helmets which was worth every penny, I can't imagine how people used the old helmets for decades. You should also get yourself some of the heavy leather gloves. Very satisfying.

I've wanted to weld for years, so I bought this little unit and took a 2 hour class on MIG welding. Even though this unit does not use gas, I was making decent-looking welds on steel plate within about 10 minutes. Very easy to set up, and the single knob control with flux core wire takes all the guesswork out of welding for us inexperienced folks. So much fun I'm looking for projects around the ranch to use it on

I am a Professional Welder & I have been repairing Heavy Mobile & Rock Crushing Equipment for almost 40 yrs. This machine is excellent for the home shop, hobbyist, or beginners. While it would not work in heavy applications,I got excellent welds on small home projects.
Before you buy be sure you understand Duty Cycles & decide if 20% will work for you !
I would recommend to a friend.

Easy setup!
Stores great.
You can even keep extra tips and what not inside it.
I weld much more often now that I know I got such an easy setup.
Plug it in, flip the switch and Weld!

I'll make this review short as to not bore you. Set up was a snap. Wire traveled perfectly. Settings are so simple anyone can be welding within 10 minutes. This is a great little welder for the home/hobbyist. I wondered if the wire speed would give me a problem having used industrial mig welders on the job and having the option to set my wire speed and heat to "fine tune" my welds. I have to say I am very happy with this welder and am glad that I purchased it.

Loving my welder. Use it all the time. Repairs, and fabrication. It's settings are very ez to get use to, and put down good penetrating welds. I did a lap weld on I believe 18gauge steel and clamped it down to a machine at work to see how strong the welds were and we took it up to 14000nm. Which equals around to 3000lbs. Stretched the metal welds did not deform at all. I have pictures of the piece I tested.
