Hobart face shield,
By Skycats2 (FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hobart 770118 Face Shield Clear with Ratchet Head Gear (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased this after being hit in the face too many times by flying twigs & pebbles while using my gas trimmer. It works great! The headband is easily adjusted while on your head; it even helps to keep the sweat out of your eyes. I've used this for 2 seasons already and I am now ready to replace the shield itself. It easily removes for cleaning, or you can leave it attached to the headband - I use soap & water on a sponge to clean it. Save your eyes and face from flying debris with this comfortable Hobart face shield. Highly recommended.

This shield is great for snow blowing, wood chipping or anything that you need to protect your face from. Everytime I use the snowblower, I end up with a faceful of snow. So my wife purchased this shield to give me a little protection. I can also use it for protection, when I use the wood chipper. Now we just need some snow to use the snowblower on.

Weld weld weld, look what we have here!,
By Eric M. Thompson (Baltimore, MD) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hobart 770118 Face Shield Clear with Ratchet Head Gear (Tools & Home Improvement)
To be 100% transparent, I don't weld. Never have, never will. I don't even believe in welding, seems too close to alchemy for me to trust. That being said, I own three of these welding masks, each of which serves a different purpose in my life. Allow me to explain as to give you some ideas for alternate uses. Mask 1: I eat nothing but boiled carrots, every day, for every meal, no exceptions; this being the case, my health is not where my family doctor would deem it to be "acceptable". It's a lot better than when I had pica and ate nothing but soda can tabs. Anyway, I got this first mask as a way to prevent the splatter from the cauldron from getting on my face. Works like a charm. Mask 2: To give you some context, my son is at the age now where he incessantly humiliates me in public places, calling me names, spitting on me, etc. About a month back, it got really bad. He seethed with anger and started punching me in the head, telling me "I'm going to keep doing this until you buy a welding face shield and wear it in public everywhere". I didn't really have a choice, I don't have control of my household, I admit that, so I just bought this mask to stop the berating. Worked like a charm. Mask 3: So I told you that I don't weld. That's a fact. I didn't tell you my feelings on heated metals in general though. Love them. Can't live without them. I needed a third mask so I could do something I always wanted to try: hold an ingot of hot metal inside of the welding mask (close to my face) and then walk outside into the cold air and watch as the mask forms condensation from the temperature differential. I can't explain why I like that, I just do. Worked like a charm.
