Perfect gift,
This review is from: Hobo Finds a Home (Paperback)
I'm a 62 year old grandfather. I giggled when I read this book, like I know my 2 year old granddaughter will when I read it to her. She adores cats. I adore her. My imagination did a jig. The story is classic and the illustrations are simply wonderful. This is a perfect gift for my grandchildren---and, come to think of it, for my grand-nieces and nephews too. Kudos to author and illustrator!!

I found this story to be completely wonderful and playful. My niece and nephew ask to read this book every time they come over, my niece still can't completely figure out how a cat can write a book! It it a great story for kids of all ages.

Terrific!,
This review is from: Hobo Finds a Home (Paperback)
"Hobo Finds a Home" is a completely adorable book! Written for children by a cat (and cats, as anyone who's ever shared a house with a cat knows, never grow up!) it combines beautiful pictures with easy to read, almost poetic at times, prose that appears to have been written in crayon. It tells the story of Hobo who runs away from home, has adventures in the wild, grows cold and lonely, runs into a 'spice kitty', and then finds a new friend, a new home and a warm spot by the fire (and what more can anyone, cat or human, ask for from life?!). It's written from the cat's point of view but is easily translatable to the lives of children who often do feel the urge to see what else is out there in the world -- Hobo's adventures (and misadventures) make a wonderful story that children will enjoy reading and parents will love to read with their children. I would recommend this book to anyone (cat lover or not) although anyone who's ever been owned by a cat will definitely want a copy!

As a person who is owned by five cats, I find this book totally enchanting.
If my KITT could talk or write like Hobo, he would probably say that he was lucky like Hobo to find a home after wondering in the wilds of Mansfield. I might need to buy another copy to send to my adopted grandchildren in South Carolina as I am sure they would love it!

Cute Children's Book!,

Hobo Finds A Home is a touching story written "by a cat" about a cat's journey to a new life. The heart-warming story and colorful, hand-drawn illustrations portray Hobo as a cuddly and loveable cat searching for a friend and a place to call home. During Hobo's search for a home he meets some interesting and beautifully illustrated friends - a possum and a "spice kitty." This is a sweet story for any child who loves cats - or any animal!

I think "Hobo" is a wonderful story for any young person who has been adopted by a "country" cat. Although their city brethren have their own travails, only a country cat understands the unique dangers of life among cows. Hobo's self written story (autobiography?) details his journey from the farm to his new home and his adventures along the way. The book's ideal audience, I think, is the early reader who will find the book easy to understand and will enjoy the plot and illustrations. It's also a very good book for reading to youngsters. I highly recommend this to parents of young children (from 6 to 10). It should also find an excellent home in any Library children's section.
Disclaimer: I've met Hobo's humans a few times and am impressed by the excellent job he's done in caring for and training them, an extraordinary feline indeed!

"Hobo" says: A fine "tail"...a purr-fect tome...fe-literature at its finest...I am an orange cat, also called Hobo, and this story reminded me of my own grand adventure. I once was lost, and now am found: I now have a good home with loving humans. Five Stars! Author! Author!
"Jim" says: Any human child will fall in love with Hobo the cat and his wonderful book. Any cat-loving human, too, for that matter. My roommate's 6-year-old grandson read it while he was here and he said it was the best book ever. He loved both the story and the drawings. Now we're ordering another copy for ourselves, since we had to give him the first one. But that's fine; we love to support cats in the arts. Tell Hobo to get started on the next book. HIGHLY recommended!!

The whimsical drawings with peaceful, muted colors make this book a delight for young children. I'm glad that Hobo found a good friend and a good home, and I'm glad I found this book for my children. Posting Hobo as the author is an adorable touch!
