Great overview of the hobo life.,

I used this book in 1985 for a grad school paper. I was shocked that it had been funded with public money because it was such a good book. Anderson describes and analyzes the hobo jungle in Chicago, making it come alive as he does. An excellent book.

Prof. Anderson's thesis at Univer. of Chicago......"The Hobo" was published in 1923. He taught at University in Newfoundland at age 74! See Publishers Weekly review ,Dec 7 ..favorable. will be required reading in many soc. & Americana courses.
