I bought these for occasional pond clean ups. The size 10 wader was a perfect fit for me; I am 5'10". The material is very lightweight and comfortable. The cleated soles gave me a secure footing in the muddy ground of my pond. Overall they appeared to be well made and a good value for the money. I did a lot of research and settled on these, partially also because of Amazon's no-nonsense exchange policy in case they would not fit. I highly recommend these waders.

I wanted to test these out for a while before I made my review and I think after a months worth of use of fishing three to four nights a week on the beach in calm, medium and rough surf at four to five hours each time is more than enough time to make a judgement. They are light weight, easy to walk and wade in and durable. They are a little big on me around my waist and chest but thats because I have big feet for my size and I had to order a size bigger because of that. These are not insulated so be sure to buy some long johns or thermal pants, thick wool socks and maybe some thick sweat pants to go over both base layers for added protection from the cold weather and cold water. I had to do this and bought the extra padding of sweat pants because I could still feel the coldness of the water right through the waders and both base layers. Even with the added protection I use, they are still very easy to put on and take off, so I guess it was better that I did go a size bigger. At first I experience the same pressure around my knees and feet but with the added protection that went away. All in all, a great wader and I only had to spend another $30 or so on base layers. Don't let the price or not being insulated fool you either, I have fishing buddies who bought the higher priced insulated waders and they still had to buy extra base layers to stay warm. In short, I highly recommend them.

Having never owned a pair of waders before, and not really knowing how much I'd use them, I went with these based on feedback - and they are great for the money! I've been about as deep in water as I'd want to get (water about 6" below the top) and have climbed over and scraped against some pretty serious rocks with no negative impact (so far). As for fit, I'm 5'8"/150 and the 8 is a bit on the big side, but not horribly so. So why only 4 stars? Well, they don't breathe - so the inside can get pretty wet - which means you'll want to wear sweats or you'll end up with stinky waders! And the boots, while giving good traction, don't have any cushion - so if you step on something sharp - you'll feel it! And finally, there are no pockets or points of attachment for equipment - so I bought a scuba attachment for my pliers and hooked it onto one of the shoulder straps and I carry my gear in a fishing vest inside - but if it is warm out, that is a layer you don't really want. But hey, for the $s, they are good waders!

These Waders at first seem to come up to my face but when I tried them on they were a perfect just right fit. For the price it is an unbelievable set of Wader. I will quite possible buy some more in the future.

I purchased a pair of Hodgman Waders and used them very sparingly as a backup pair of waders. They developed a leak much to my surprise. They looked brand new, showed ZERO sign of wear and really were worn in the mellowest setting a pair of waders could be used in (soft mud/sand and zero brush, not exposed to elements and cleaned after each use). I wanted to simply patch them but the only place I could find a leak was in the rubber boots. I assumed my boots had a factory weakened location in the rubber of the boot. There was zero other explanation. Like I stated earlier, these waders were used for about a day total time. I read over the Hodgman warranty page which stated to cut off the wader from the boot and to send them pictures for a replacement pair as long as my waders were within one year. They were so I did. I got a reply from Hodgman to send proof of purchase. I purchase my waders from a sporting goods store selling them on eBay. They were purchased unused and sealed. I was told by Hodgman the best they could do was 45 percent off my next pair and that they couldn’t offer a warranty off eBay (this is not on their warranty page!) I again explained these boots were purchased new and in a sealed package unused. I again explained they were a backup pair of waders and not abused. Hodgman response was to simply not respond to my email. I have never had a company treat me this way. I will never ever spend a dime on a Hodgman product. I encourage everyone to look at companies who stand by their products and support their customers. Hodgman is not that company. Orvis, Cabela’s, Rogers Sporting Goods, Columbia, all will stand by their products. Highly Recommend looking elsewhere from Hodgman.

I recently purchased these to replace my last pair of Hodgman waders which started leaking after about 5 years. First of all, I was amazed at the incredible light weight of these compared to the old ones. They fit perfectly and were extremely comfortable after a full day on my feet in the water. Not a drop of water got in. I was able to easily hose them off and hang them up for my next trip (and they still look brand new). My hat is off to the folks at Hodgman for a sturdy comfortable and affordable wader with great style too!! Wish I could get theses in smaller sizes for my boys!
