This is a model of perfection. Sleek, easy to hold in your hand, it has a wide peelimg blade,which effortlessly peels large sections at a time{when cooking for 7, this helps}. It is clean[no knuckles nicked},very efficient,easy to hold, easy to clean,lightwieght,and nice to look at. Perfect.

This peeler works very well; it would have been my favorite, but then someone gave me the KitchenAid peeler for a gift, and it's quite awesome. I would recommend this one too.

beautifully designed. has a nice slight weight to it, so it won't just slip out of your hand. it works. it works well. it's easy to clean, i just rinse it under the sink, and no poky parts to present a danger in a full sink. the blade part swivels, like a safety razor, so it follows bumpy yamskin easily. fun!

I just bought this because I thought it looked fun and easy to use. I had no idea! This is awesome! Its functionality is so incredible that I actually look forward to peeling vegetables and fruits. After watching me peel a cucumber in under a minute my 14 year old brother took it and peeled an apple just as quickly. I can't remember the last time I saw him eat an apple. With other peelers I've often hit my fingers while peeling. With this peeler, there was virtually no danger of that. Plus the head swivels for easy use on any curved surface, apple or cucumber.

Wow! I'm the lone dissenter here. I use this y-shaped peeler mainly for potatoes; however, I'm ashamed to admit in light of all the other positive reviews that this peeler brings me quite a bit of anxiety each time I use it. I've bought quite a few peelers in my lifetime, always searching for that "perfect" peeler. Yes, this is the best peeler I've owned so far, altho' this is the only one bought online. Yes, it's very sharp and quick. Maybe it's due to my age (not telling) or my small hands, but I yet find it very awkward to hold a potato in my hand and peel each end and side of the potato using this peeler without nearly slicing a portion of my hand or fingers in the process. One has to hold a potato "just so" in order to peel the potato properly. If not careful, the potato will slip out of your hand or you will slice the side of your thumb, finger or palm. I've actually sliced myself once and "almost" a few times too many since I've had this peeler, although I had never had any issues with any other peeler. After 2 years, it's still too stressful peeling a potato with this type peeler. So for me, back to the pursuit of the perfect peeler I go...

This peeler has a lovely matte steel finish-look, is not so lightweight as to be dangerous (it has good heft), possesses a thick handle to prevent you from losing your grip, and peels carrots and cucumbers (and other veggies/fruits) in record time. This is a great buy, and just think - you won't have to pull out that embarrassing rusty old peeler next time you have friends or family in the kitchen watching you work.

My father brought Y-shape peeler as a "gift" for my mother from Japan 12 years ago. Since then I got married and "inhereted" the peeler. For long time I was looking to buy one, but I could not find one. This one is better looking and also functions better then my old one. I think this shape design is the best, but it will take a little time to adjust to it if you used a different one before. It is very easy to use, I have never had any hand cuts from using this tool, very safe and delivers amazing results in seconds. My entire family loved this design for years and used it for many many years.

I cannot BELIEVE that my most hated task (peeling potatoes - or anything) is no not hated at all- this peeler is AWESOME - its even fun to use.
I raised 7 children (and fed their friends too) and when i peeled potatoes it was like peeling for some army unit....even after time went on and all I have left is one child (who doesnt even care much for potatoes...) the job was a hated one. Now I just do 3 potatoes or 4 at a time- but still didnt like to do it.
I ordered this peeler just because of what others said - and IMAGINE THAT!! I like it- I now cook potatoes- cuz I like to peel them...

There is very little that costs $6 that adds so much to my life!!! Everybody get one of these!

We have used this peeler for the last 2 years without ever sharpening it. It has outlasted many other peelers, some even twice as expensive. It is easy to use, has a good design, and most importantly peels very well.

great value, although not too comfortable to hold & work with, but it get's the job done. not for delicate jobs either. long, thick peels. hope it stays sharp!
