Cook's little helper,

I decided to purchase this gadget after seeing a professional chef who appears nightly on FoodTV. He recommended it for baking purposes. Since then I have found many other uses for it and am thrilled with the purchase. It has a lot of surface area for scraping or gathering chopped foods. The handle is nice and fat without being cumbersome. This is not an overly sharp tool so don't expect it to cut like a good knife. It cuts pastry dough and soft, thin foods nicely and is great for scraping your dough board. I keep coming up with new uses for it so I'll probably end up buying another one soon.

...This item larger and heftier than it appears. Not at all like those el-cheapo metal hand choppers or the lightweight plastic scrapers for bread dough. The tubular handle is "fat" and gives a safe, easy grip. The flat scoops up a surprisingly large amount of choppings or scrapes any cutting board clean with ease and efficiency. Breaks up ground meats as they cook; serves scrambled eggs nicely; etc etc (be creative!).

A Must Kitchen Tool,

I enjoy using herbs and vegetables in my own cooking, but transferring them into my pot or pan with even a big chef's knife takes several trips from the chopping block to the stove. I had seen television chefs use chopper/scrapers on their shows many times, so taking a clue from them I ordered this beautiful Hoffritz Stainless Steel Scraper/Chopper and have been delighted that I did. Man, do I love cooking! This tool has made it easier for me.

This scraper/chopper is sturdy and thick. It cuts well when used for chopping and is really handy for scooping up chopped veggies or herbs. A very handy and sturdy utensil to make kitchen work easier and quicker.

best kind of its kind,

I don't think you can really screw up making or buying a dull, flat-edged scraper...maybe if the steel was sub-standard...however--
I've used many scrapers for meat/veggies/baking...I find the steel kind with the "rolled" handle are the best when you take grip, angle for scraping, cleaning, and extreme usage into consideration. I love this scraper and it is very effective.

If you, like me, desire well-made, sturdy kitchen utensils, buy this. My guess is that it could survive a nuclear attack unscathed. 'Just the right size for most cutting boards.

I used one of these when I was a teenager working in a pizza joint to scrape dough balls off the pan so I could spin pizza's. Until recently I never knew how versitile these things are.
I use it constantly to keep my cutting board clean, scape rememants of one item off before chopping the next, I use the side to smash garlic cloves, use the rounded handle to smooth surfaces, and more. This thing is versatile, not just for baking. For the cheap price of this thing, no kitchen should be without.

This tool is a must-have for the home baker. It's useful for separating a big lump of dough into portions, scraping up dough from the counter, cleaning up the work area (I just scrape the flour and crumbs off the counter into a small wastebasket), even separating a baked loaf from its pan if it sticks. It fits easily in the hand, is very sturdy, and cleans easily as well. Don't be fooled into thinking that it's flimsy. I've had the same one for years, and it has held up well with much use.

Steel Scraper/Chopper,
This review is from: Hoffritz Stainless-Steel Scraper/Chopper (Kitchen)
This tool is very helpful in the kitchen. It picks up everything and a good amount to, I really think I like it best when I am picking up grated cheese, because it really likes to stick to the board, and with this tool it all comes up very nice with no problems, and it is great for all kinds of other chopped items too. So Thanks to the makers of this tool.

This scraper is very good for scooping up cut vegetables from a chopping board and also good for cutting dough into strips or sections. Does not chop up vegetables just soft type food. Cleans up in the dishwasher with no problems. A good addition to any kitchen that cooks a lot.
