Nice looking, but...,
By "geeo" (Reno, NV, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hoffritz Stainless-Steel Gourmet Oil Mister Set (Kitchen)
I read the Misto reviews here on Amazon, and also saw that Cook's Magazine was not impressed with the Misto brand oil sprayer. I wanted something that would work better than Misto and would still not cost a fortune; knowing that Hoffritz makes fine quality kitchen items spurred me to order this "Gourmet Oil Set". I looked on the web and on the hoffritz.com site for additional info on the set, but didn't find anything beyond what's here on the Amazon website - not much.Today, I received the package, and looked inside - there were the three sprayers pictured and the base, along with 12 labels that could be used to identify the contents of the sprayers. I did not locate any information or directions for the sprayers. The sprayer will stand on a counter without the base. I immediately filled one of the bottles with light olive oil, the oil that we use most. What I quickly discovered is that this set of sprayers is completely unlike a number of the other oil sprayers on the market, and do not require any "priming", or removal of a cap to create air pressure, you just press the button under the cap with your finger, much like any other spray can or bottle, and the contents come out, in an almost straight stream, with essentially no "mist". While this can be pretty useful for measuring a small amount of oil into a pan for cooking, it again does NOT "mist" out. For uses other than oiling a pan, like coating the surface of a chicken that you'd like to oil before cooking, it is pretty clumsy, streaming out of the sprayer with a fair amount of force, possibly splashing back, and certainly requiring a brush ( or similar ) to even the coating of oil after spraying. All in all, a nice looking, but somewhat expensive set of small standard spray bottles - Good for what they are, but did not fill the need I had hoped they would.

Disappointing product,
By Jenny H Ko (NY, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hoffritz Stainless-Steel Gourmet Oil Mister Set (Kitchen)
I am very disappointed with this product. I purchased this oil set because they looked really nice and the Editorial review said that it worked as a mister. When I received the product I immediately tried it out. The first few "sprays" the oil just squirted out in a steady stream, and after a few tries it would spray out with large droplets, not a fine mist. Not at all what I had expected. It works well to add a little bit of oil to a pan, but that's what I have a squeeze bottle for. If you are looking for something pretty to use while oiling your pans while cooking, this product will work for you. But if you are looking for something to grease your cake pans or lightly coat food with oil, this product will not work well. I will be returning mine and trying the Misto one intead.

A durable SPRAYER, not a mister,
By Junkman (New England Haunted House) - See all my reviews

This is a durable sprayer, not a mister. I went through 3 or 4 misters before finding the Hoffritz sprayers. Mine are 3 years old and going strong. The misters, including the expensive stainless steel one, simply do not last very long. We use a LOT of olive oil and these sprayers have held up well. They do require a good push. And you get more olive oil than you would with a mister.

Unfortunately anfter I placed the order and the package was shipped, I started to read the customers review.
This is something I really regret now :( PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING ANYTHING and that is my first advice to all of you. Anyways, I read that it does not spray in a misty way !!! then, few days later I got the package. At first I started to clean it with water to rinse it, I started to pump and it is MIST !!!! I thought maybe something wrong with the peoples items !!! I then filled it with Balsamic Vinegar and it is also MISTY !!!!! Finally I tried the regular Olive Oil and here is the truth come clear, it is not misting AT ALL it is exactly as described buy the other reviewers it is only a straight line of stream. This is a waste to me as my top priority was to use it like on frying pans and so.. for cooking. so BOTTOM LINE it is MISTY for low viscus liquids (Vinegar, water, maybe lime and lemon juices) and NOT MISTY for higher viscosity liquids such as oils and otheres. I hope that was worth to read :) Thank you all for your time

Great Spray, not Mist,

Mist sprayers tend to over spray onto floors, table cloths, and stove tops. These work very well. We use one for olive oil, one for balsamic vinegar, and one for "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray" for corn on the cob.

waisting money for just for the look,

I am puzzled with all of this evaluations positive stuff. Who are these people anyway, How they can write all of this nonsense positive stuff like " I just love this product " when this has just the look of stainless steel but is only pieces of cheap plastic junk which DOES NOT PERFORMS with oil at all and just prolongs agony when trying to make it work.
I got one set and in two days is out, in garbage, not waisting my time and my good mood. The hand held watter spray pump at local Home Depot is not as pretty bud does it better for $ 2.99

I'm using extra virgin olive oil and they create a nice even spray. I'm quite happy with them.

Very attractive set but not functional,

I received this set as a Christmas gift and it is very attractive and goes well in my stanless kitchen. It sprays vinegar in a mist but oil comes out in a stream instead of a mist. Does not compare to the Misto Mister. I would not buy. Hoffritz Stainless-Steel Gourmet Oil Set

I'd hoped for better quality from Hoffritz. One cylinder was not glued together properly. They all do an inadequate job.
