While most wine stopper ads feature no leak claims, stainless, chrome materials,etc, they seldom, if ever, discuss the most important detail......will it fit on my wine bottle??. Here lies the problem, a 750ml wine bottle typically has a neck opening outer diameter that is 29.0mm (1.14"). However, the 1.5l bottle has an outer diameter of 32.3mm (1.27").

This Hoffritz wine saver stopper only accomodates 750ml bottles with a 29.5mm (1.16")neck, thus does not fit correctly on the larger 1.5l wine bottles. The 1.5l bottle neck opening will not seat into the stopper opening flange. It would have been prudent if Hoffritz would indicate this limitation in their advertisement. I had to buy them and learn the hard way. But don't blame Hoffritz....I have a drawer full of mail-ordered stoppers with the same problem. Unfortunately, you really need to examine compression type wine stoppers to see if it will work on both bottle sizes.

...I give this 2 stars, as it will only work properly on one size bottle. Lots of us buy wine in the 1.5l bottles.

I purchased the winesavers..however, do not count on them to save the wine for more than a day. They do not seal tight, and I did lose a bottle of wine that turned to vinegar after 2 days. Ok for a temporary measure for a few hours or less then a day..no more..

I rarely write reviews, but this product was really awful: flimsy; and the levers broke off on first use. The plastic ones I bought at Williams-Sonoma a few years ago were MUCH better, but I couldn't find them anymore, so I thought I'd try these. I'd give them a negative star rating if I could. Do NOT waste your money.

As the title reads, these Hoffritz stainless steel wine savers are simple and affordable. These stoppers make a nice tight seal and are very easy to handle. I also like that each stopper is very small. This is a definite must-have for any wine aficionado. Its classy look will match any kitchen's decor. Don't forget--these stoppers make wonderful gifts!

COmpletely useless, bad design and very bad quality. broke on the first use. Have used similar ones for 6 years, and never had one broken before. Got these, cause they looked polished and good. well bad idea!

I'm delighted with the functionality of this product. While doing an excellent job in bottles with openings that correspond to the stopper's measurements it is, however, too narrow for bottles with larger openings. A major shortcoming I found is that the black plastic material on the top of the stopper tends to break when closing the lock. Without the top material, the expansion effect of the stopper is decreased and becomes unsusable. Of the four stoppers I purchased, only one is still unbroken.

I wasn't impressed with this item. When you look at the picture, it looks like a decent quality product, but its made farily cheap. I went to use one for the first time, and the black piece cracked and it was useless after that. The second one got only a few uses out of it before the metal piece bent and was also useless. I dont recommend this product at all.

These items worked for about 4 times each. The plastic insert on the top that the metal lever rocks on to seal or unseal the stopper broke on both stoppers. The metal on the lever actually cuts into the plactic insert when you push it down to seal the bottle - cutting the plastic insert in half. When the plactic insert breaks, you can not seal the bottle. Don't waste you money. This product needs to be re-engineered.

These cheap plastic pieces of junk are not worth anything. Avoid them at all cost.

They are convenient to have if you cook with wine and have a few bottles open at the same time. Very durable.
